Game #-7: Pacers vs. Wolves (Fargo, ND)

Its almost here! No TV or radio, but we got live stats and Twitter!

The Wolves will open the preseason against Indiana in Fargo Wednesday night without Luke Ridnour (back) and Malcolm Lee (groin).

Of the two, Ridnour is the closest to returning. Coach Rick Adelman said Ridnour probably could have practiced today; the point guard did some shooting on his own after practice ended. Lee, meanwhile, continues to put himself behind, Adelman said. Ridnour could play in one of the two games this weekend.

As for Wednesday's preseason opener: Adelman said he will probably go with a starting lineup of J.J. Barea and Brandon Roy at guard, Andrei Kirilenko and Kevin Love at forward and Nikola Pekovic at center. The starters, Adelman said, would play about half the game.

Adelman is looking at a rotation of about 10 or 11 players. Rookie Alexey Shved will get significant minutes. He will enter the game as a backup to Roy at shooting guard, but also get significant minutes at point guard.

"I'm curious what we're going to see from our team," Adelman said. "I do think we have the capabilities of being very good offensively. But we have to make stops. That's what we want to find out. And usually, in exhibition games, you have the tendency to not move the ball as well to start with. it will be a real teaching weekend for us."

I think it is game minus 7, as in counting down to regular season.

Anyone know if there will be pie tonight?

Probably not, but if I find a recipe I'll tweet it - @airted

Zach Harper mentioned (what I assume was a joke) about finding a recipe and there looks to be a site ready for it, so there's a glimmer of hope.

I wouldn't want Pek to pound on my new max-contract in a pre-season game, either.

Has Adelman and his assistants or Kahn said much about Lee this pre-season? Just wondering if his roster spot is up for grabs.

I don't think Lee has played enough minutes for them to say much about him. Adelman did recently say something to the effect of "Lee is falling behind" though.

Preview from A Wolf Among Wolves from Zach Harper with Tim Donahue and Jared Wade (Pacer bloggers).

C. lupus should be sure to read the Game Vitals up to the Confidence Meter (5 Darkos - gotta like that!).
