Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
With the Wiretap post going up today, I think it will be best to have one thread on this entire issue going forward. There will be a lot of traffic over the next year or two, until the situation is resolved one way or another. Many of you who were around for the last year with Garnett know what I am referring to.
If separate threads are created from outside fans inquiring about Kevin, they will be locked or merged into this one.
Thanks!

This is all David Kahn/Glen Taylor's fault.

Words can't describe how much I dislike Woj.
Besides a bigger market there isn't anything I can think of that I would prefer the Knicks over the Twolves for

Didn't even realize it was Woj.
I'd put the Knicks behind us at this point. The Lakers thing is TBD, but I still think we have a decent chance.

Flip has greatly increased the chances of him staying. I think it hinges on how successful they are this year and probably Adelman's future. If he likes the direction the team is going, I feel confident since he can get more money/years here. If he wants to go big city, there's nothing Flip can do about it.

As of right now, he's staying. That's my thought.

btw, I love what I'm seeing from him this season - and not just the numbers. He seems really focused, isn't throwing his arms up and whining after every non-call, and is playing within the team game.

if DWill is going to be a major player in the L, it's clearly not going to happen here. Trading him will be good for both parties.
Suns, Celtics, Sixers and Raptors all seem like good trade partners.
Avery Bradley, Derozen stick out to me.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
Not saying that I think it's already tampering but where is the line between making it public they're going to try to sign Love and actually tampering?
With that being said, as of right now I don't think he'll leave the team at his current state. I'm pretty sure Love won't be spending too many thoughts on this matter as of right now either. He won't before the season is over, either.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
If Flip really wants to ensure Love stays, he should improve the bench asap. I'd say a 2nd round is something that would keep Love in Minny, if his motive is nba success.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
i think the only team that has a chance is the lakers. NY? no way that's gonna happen imo.
he was born in santa monica, dad showed him tapes of celtics/lakers rivalry as a kid and he went to UCLA. [thanks wiki lol]
i can see it right now as
1) twolves
2) lakers
there's no way he's being traded, he's a stud/superstar, unless it's because twolves know he's not going to be coming back and they need to unload like denver did with melo.

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
I'm hoping shrink or someone else can help me. I remember there being some sort of mini-extension that could kick in onto Love's current contract, but can't seem to find any of that info anywhere.

Kevin Love is from Lake Oswego, OR. No way he goes to a team that isn't set to win.

Exactly. If Kevin wants to leave simply because New York City makes him excited, go for it, take less money and go enjoy that circus. If we can make the playoffs, ideally win a round this year, there would really no reason for him to not sign his coveted 5-year extension with the Timberwolves. If Flip makes clear we won't be trading him, why would he leave? He can get a larger contract here and our team is improving with him being the clear cut go-to guy. It was clear Kevin did not like Kahn, but I have never had the vibe that he simply does not like being in Minnesota.
Also, as mentioned earlier, I am sure Kevin is just dying to play second fiddle to Carmelo

Re: Kevin Love Free Agency/Trade Thread
The New York Knicks have begun devising a strategy to acquire Kevin Love in 2015, according to sources.
The Knicks need another superstar to pair with Carmelo Anthony, who can leave the franchise in 2014.
Knicks better have a more realistic plan in place before 2015 to keep their own superstar. LeBron & Rubio to the Knicks worked out so well, right? Can't just tell your superstar that you hope to steal one in FA the following year as a sales pitch.
