Post-Draft Kevin Love Thread

The draft is done.
We've seen who each team picked.

This poll speculates that if Minnesota wants to get the best return for Kevin Love, should we assume they have about a month to do this-because teams want Love for the whole season to convince him to stay and opt in.

This poll also speculates that there are 3 teams competing for Love being Chicago, Boston and Golden State, it's now laid out on the table and we know what young players are there to choose from if they want to take someone.
I feel like it's hurt their flexibility, but also helped define what they can realistically get back- but has that increased our chances?

* The Chicago picks are gone. But McDermott is there with Gibson, Mirotic or Snell.

* The Celtics 2014 picks are gone. But Marcus Smart is there with Young, Sully or Olynyk and the Brooklyn/Clippers/Celtics /Philly picks.

*Thompson and Lee are still there from GSW

There are two paths here for the Wolves; the rebuild from ground up, or the re-tool and fight for the playoffs.

What do you think? Please base this on the more viable scenarios. ie: The Bulls probably won't offer all of those pieces, likely 2 or 3 in Gibson, Snell and Mirotic, or McDermott+Gibson etc... Use the recent trade rumors and what assets were involved in those rumors as reasoning for your choice.
Thanks!

As a Celtics fan? Easily Chicago.

As soon as the Celtics used up their picks this year they lost value. Not because they picked bad players (in fact I think they did fantastic), but because there is no longer a choice and having a choice their adds value.

So if there wasn't enough value before the draft there certainly won't be enough now. Unfortunate, but that's the truth IMO.

I hope Napier doesn't prevent LeBron from going to Cleveland and us getting Wiggins. Stretch I know haha

Still Boston I'd say not counting the Cavs.

Then bulls

Gibson/Mirotic/Butler as a biased Bulls fan seems to be a good haul.

Wiggins!

Looking like he Warriors trade is just waiting to happen, but I'm still hoping LeBron considers Cleveland with Kevin Love.

Considering we didn't pick a PF. Probably just going to do the GSW deal.

Maybe ship Lee + Barnes to Lakers for Randle?

Now that would be an amazing haul for Love. Thompson and Randle...unfortunately I can't see the Lakers have any interest in touching David Lee's contract.

Might be some three way trades available with additional teams.

Yes. We would probably have to sweeten the pot though. Even then Lakers might not be interested. They want to win now but at what cost?

Maybe, but why would a team that has the assets to get Love trade them for assets that can't get Love in order to get Love to that other team?

I expect because they would profit by it more than sitting on their assets. :dontknow:

With his contract Lee has negative value. We'd have to give up something to flip him.

Unless Love gets flipped, I'm struggling to see why I should care about the Wolves this year. Even if Love mans up and leads us to a first round playoff exit, knowing he's going to leave makes me not care.

I like Denver's assets. Some combo of Nurkic, Harris, Affalo, Gallinari, Fraried, and maybe future picks would at least give me some hope.

That or you trade him for even worse contract like Josh Smith and hope to get an asset from those teams.

probley should just accept either the boston or bulls deal than start trading some of the other players during the year
dont think we should be offering 15 mill contracts to people like thompson when we havent got a good playoff team already

I do think LeBron just stays in Miami and we'll never get close to Wiggins, so if that's the case, I still like what the Nuggets have to offer. Faried, Harris, Chandler, future pick? A lot of 2 way players at least. It's nothing special, but that's what we are left with. Mirotic, Butler, Gibson? I don't know. Maybe... I still want Stauskas :(
