We were always locking him up, what are you two on about?

By making all-nba, we can extend him THIS OFFSEASON to a super max. If he didn’t make it, we’d have to wait until next offseason to extend him. And if we had to wait, you never know what’s going to happen. He’s still temperamental. He could get upset and demand a trade. A trade demand that has a lot more force if he only has one year left on his deal instead of five or six.

If he's dumb enough to leave the extra money behind, let alone the chance to finish All NBA NEXT season and get the supermax then...cool, there's the door.

But it was never going to happen.
