Parker is irrelevant. He is now at best their 3rd best PG.

I'm the biggest Rubio fan there is, but for John Wall??????????
I'd give Rubio and two first round picks.

I actually declared Wall a HoF player before his first NBA game simply based on highlights. I think I will be right.

I'm a Rubio fan too but I recognize his limitations. I love the kid but I'm very happy with Jeff Teague. We will look like a totally different team with him. It will be so refreshing to see our PG drive the lane, break down defenses, and finish.

There isn't a GM in basketball that would take Rubio over Wall. Wall presents problems that few player do. I think you get opinions like that when people rely only on advanced stats which are helpful but far from definitive.

I can't wait for the Wolves game tomorrow night. SA is like 18-2 on openers. Looks to me like they'll be18-3!:) The big question will be how is our defense coming along? Can't wait.

Has Jim Petersen done any podcasts or local interviews recently?

Don't think I've heard him since the butler trade

I think he enjoyed his first real summer off in awhile. Did a few Lynx-centric interviews, but that's about all I've seen.

Was going to post it if you hadn't. I knew they had a big hire coming, but didn't really think it would be this big. This means The Athletic now has arguably the two best writers on the Timberwolves beat.

It is a paid subscription, but know that you aren't just paying for the Wolves content. When you sign up for an account, you get access to the entire website. That means Wild hockey coverage from Russo, plus coverage from 7 other US markets, 7 Canadian markets, plus national writers in all of the major sports.

(Sorry if this sounds like a PSA. I have no skin in this game, other than paying for my own subscription. But I'm really excited about where this might go, as they continue to hire such great writers.)

with MGH being sent to the Gleague. something must be on the horizon.

We really need another wing defender off the bench, maybe a rim protector, or a 3 point shooter.

anthony Morrow? Matt Barnes? Reade?

Not necessarily. It didn't open up minutes in the rotation and it didn't open up a roster spot.

The NBA team is in Phoenix until Saturday and the G League team is playing in Arizona tonight. It wouldn't surprise me if MGH is called back up tomorrow.

1st 20 minutes of the recent Lowe Post podcast with Van Gundy was on the Wolves

Nothing particularly interesting

Lowe was more positive about the Wolves than he had been, but that was more about other Western teams collapsing. (Before the year I think he had them as a borderline playoff team fighting with like Mem, NOP)

JVG said the same thing he usually does, best players have to care about defense-team success as they do their individual stats. But didn't rail on KAT/Wig like he has at other times

Lowe thought they were safe bet to make playoffs but he thinks poor shooting teams/players get exposed in that environment
