I really wish they would try to bring in a big man to develop into a defensive stopper/rebounder/rim protector.

Teams don't usually change their whole systems when a backup comes into the game for Karl, the goal is to find someone who more closely resembles his game, not someone who is the opposite.

I get it, so why not find a young, athletic 7 footer who can block shots, and try to develop his shooting?

Re: Iowa Wolves/G League talk
I tell you what, I feel really good about the PG situation for the "JV" squad. McClaughlin is solid, but the two I'm interested in are Duval and Wigginton. Give them time to "bake" and maybe one of them could turn out to be on the varsity squad as a contributor. Probably not this year, but you never know, it can happen.
The upside for both of them is pretty high IMO. Duval was so highly touted, so athletic. 6-3, strong, 6-10 wingspan. He's got the physical attributes to be a starting PG in the league and would do just fine switching on 2 guards and some wings. I love that the D-wolves drafted him. Can he develop real PG moxy and skills and improve his shot are the questions with him.

Wigginton - I've seen him play a ton so I feel I know a little more about him than the average joe. He's only an inch shorter than Duval but his wingspan is just 6-3.5. Even in the best-case scenario he'll never be a starter in the nba, but best-case scenario, he comes in off the bench and gets buckets. His defensive effort is tenacious, which helps him make up for the lack of length at times. He's also built like a rock so that helps. If he DID develop, he would be the PERFECT side-kick to Culver. They would share the play-making, with Culver focusing more on the initiating for others and Wigginton focusing more on wreaking havoc in the scoring area. Lindell just needs to learn to play in the moment. Not force shots and not force passes by driving into the trees too often and getting caught in the air.

Will Duvan develop the moxy and PG skills and improve the shooting? Will Wigginton develop the efficient offensive game and learn how to play under control? Who knows with either. It will be fun to watch the D-Wolves because of these guys this year, and of course Nowell & Reid adding to the interest as well...

Duval as prospect PG is impressive: physical tools, tough, quick, defends, aggressive. I don't know what is wrong with his jump shot, it is not broken, but he shoots very low percentage.
P.S. Also Duval played for HOU summer league in 2018. Rosas should know about him.

Not sure who gave him advice to be a one and done, but I bet he would have benefitted from staying in school another year.
Guess he didn't want to have to share the ball with Tre.

Solid game from KBD, including one very good block. I wish we could see first Nowell game, but lets wait a bit.

ok, so it looks like Reid can be used at any position 1-5. Lets roll
I only have one question.
Why are they losing all their games?

It's only a guess, but I'm thinking they're one of the younger G League teams. Just like in the NBA, experience matters.
