Butler will be fine. In addition to winning more games--he probably lights a big a$$ fire under Wiggins--as an outsider he has a total laid back sleepy look to his game. Jimmy will be like a triple shot of espresso. That fire might be the biggest gift (of many) for you guys out of this trade.

Between Wiggins and Jimmy you guys are gonna be vying with the Rockets for the most damn minutes in the bonus....

Thibs will demand and get respect--Jimmy knows this--he'd rather have a hard case like Thibs than a non-coach like Hoiberg.

You won the trade -- any benefit we will get will be from subsequent tank picks (if we even do it right)--be happy--you won. :-D

jimmy was a really bad "leader" in chicago. absolutely horrible because he was never ready for the role. but i dont think it will be an issue at all in minny as thibs is your unquestioned leader. i fact jimmy will be a good influence in minny knowing thibs driving the boat.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

This is hotly debated among Bulls fans, with some blaming Butler's leadership for our inability to be better than mediocre and others citing Butler's consistently great on court/off court impact and pointing out that the Bulls were pretty good with him and Nets level bad when he was on the bench.

Butler also clearly rubbed some people the wrong way, but whether we should care is also debated as some thought Butler was being a jerk whereas others thought he was only saying what we as fans were all thinking about guys not pulling their weight. Not to mention it doesn't appear that guys like Rose/Noah/McDermott are suddenly tearing it up without Butler being mean to them.

If you evaluate leadership based on on court impact, you'd think Butler was a great leader (there's only so far you can take a team who is -7.1 per 100 possessions when you're on the bench). If you evaluate based on how many people liked him in that role, he failed.
