Certainly right. But we could offer him a starting role as an oversized Simmons/Magic Johnson guard. Kid can feed the ball.

Simmons is 6'10. Patton played plenty of guard before his growth spurt. So the legend goes. Maybe for a starting role he would come back here and overlook the cutting.
These are my opinions.

He was included for salary matching purposes. Because the Wolves declined his 2 year team option they made it semi difficult for the team he's on at the end of the season to retain him as he will be an unrestricted free agent and the team with his rights(Sixers) only have early bird rights and can offer a limited raise or are forced to use cap space.

Now the limited raise (off the top of my head I believe it's 120% of his current years salary) is probably about all Patton would get anywhere at most, but he's likely to seek an opportunity to get more playing time in the NBA than what Philly can offer. He's certainly talented enough that a team like the Knicks who will be in clear rebuilding mode barring actually signing two max FAs might give him a chance to show he can stay healthy

So it looks like Bjelica reverted back to struggling just as he did here after a spell of playing well. Made it longer there of course. But bench time it is I hear. He was never a consistent player here. It was a big strike against us for a while there seeing him start and lead for them for a while. Now that he's come back to earth should we see him for the inconsistent guy he is for real? I always noticed how physically out of shape he looked here and wondered about his work ethic to build his frame for a pro sport. He just looked like a really tall office type while here who was playing pickup games.
These are my opinions.

This may be interesting with Philly having Embiid and Boban out although he was only up to 25 minute restriction(up from 15 it seems) in the D-League.

Went into 4th overtime?
Zach LaVine 55 minutes, 47 pts, 9 boards, 9 assists, 2 steals. defRtg 114
Markkenon and Porter both reached 31 pts.

TraeYoung 55 minutes, 49 pts, 7 boards, 16 assists, 1 steal, 1 block, defRtg 121

Zach wins with defense?

Would you guys keep Lavine or Wiggins, if both their contracts were up now and Lavine was still on the team?

LaVine hands down, I was Team LaVine back before he was traded and that hasn't changed.

When they were both rookies I mulled over the possibility that Zach looked like he could be the better NBA player. I dismissed that after seeing Wiggin's physical gifts. Today its not even a question. Zach has flaws but he's a gamer and a bonafide killer. You can work with that. Wiggins is almost hopeless.

Lavine 100%

Wiggins is going to go down as one of the most wasted physical talents the NBA has had. 6'8 with a 7ft wingspan, 44 inch vert & runs like a gazelle..

It's a damn shame that he has all that & no heart

This team is missing Lavine. Wolves drafted him. Never should have lost him. That's all there is to it.

Canaan missed all his baskets in 10 minutes of the Bucks recent loss to Jazz. I feel better about him not being here if he can't play outside the starting lineup at all. Same trouble here during his bench minute chances.
These are my opinions.

Lavine easily. It's not even close today. The only reason it should have been close 2 years ago was Zach's torn ACL.

Wiggins had that deal already IIRC, and it was a no-brainer that KAT was going to get his big extension.

So really, Lavine was the odd man out, though if things worked out with Butler, presumably the Wolves would have offered him an extension after this season.

Maybe if not for the ACL, they wouldn't have traded him.

You saying Wiggins already had that deal sewn up is the mistake. Anyone who believed he had sewn up anything during that time was wrong and should rethink how they proclaim things in the future. The team should rethink how they do things in the future. By a far cry to some of us, Lavine proved twice over he was worthy of staying and Wiggins going. He proved as much by steady improvement, hard work left on the court, and his own high level talents being shown off.

Agree the ACL made him an easier decision at the time that they may not have made. No one could guarantee at that time how it would affect his future leaps. However if you remember back, people were blaming Lavine for WIggins lack of progression. So many people had a former #1 overall pick label on their brains that it was silly.
These are my opinions.

Patton news
Patton made his season debut Tuesday against Orlando, playing nine minutes off the bench in Philadelphia's 114-106 victory.

It was only the second career NBA appearance for Patton, who missed nearly all of his rookie season following foot surgery. He underwent another procedure on the same foot back in September and was then dealt to Philadelphia as part of the Jimmy Butler deal. Finally fully healthy, Patton saw time off the bench Tuesday with the Sixers' center depth decimated by injuries to Joel Embiid, Jonah Bolden and Boban Marjanovic. Given the long layoff, Patton acquitted himself well -- four rebounds, three assists, 0-3 FG -- but he's unlikely to remain in the regular rotation down the stretch.

If they don't need him can we get him back?

Meet Lauri Marksman, another great player we could have.
