The Timberwolves playoff picture 2017-2018

Post#1 » by Merc_Porto » Tue Oct 31, 2017 2:47 am

Let's start this earlier.
The west is going to be a blood battle, no doubt about that.
And what a better day to start this thread in a day with a Wolves win + Orlando winning in New Orleans, Charlotte winning in Memphis and Philadelphia winning in Houston...

I look at the standings and there are just so many teams in the West that can make the playoffs. Suns, Lakers & Mavs are the only ones who i can say with confidence aren't going to get a spot.

Teams that I thought wouldn't look that great have come out strong (Memphis & LAC) and it seems like the Pelicans are going to be tough if DMC & AD stay healthy.

Going to be a crazy year for sure

Three games separate the No. 3 seed from the No. 14 seed. A lot can change. I won't get caught up in the results of singular games in October against the Eastern Conference.

If the playoffs began today, we'd be against Portland in the 3 vs 6. Id take that

100% locks = Warriors, Houston, Spurs

Expected to make it = Clippers, Thunder

In the hunt = Wolves, Grizzlies, Nuggets, Pelicans, Blazers

2 of these teams won’t make it in. Crazy....

What's the point of focussing on this so early? We're seven games in lol

I just like too see the Wolves in a playoff spot even if is only seven games into the season.

Every game counts. Especially in a Wild Wild West.

Start of November and we're sitting in 3rd place. I don't think we've been that high in the standings in years lol.

Next game is against Dallas

The Wolves for all the whining that has gone on so far are 5-3. That puts them on pace to win 51 games this year. If we throw out the losses when Butler didn't play we are 5-1. I believe good to great things are in store for our Wolves.

The year we had AK 47 playing we started off with a record of 5-2 or even better from what I remember. It just went downhill really quickly due to injuries.

Correct. Followed immediately by a five-game losing streak.

Starting 5 of Game 8: Luke Ridnour, Malcolm Lee, Andrei Kirilenko, Derrick Williams, Greg Stiemsma
Cunningham, Shved, Amundson, Conroy off the bench

No Love or Rubio to start the season. Brandon Roy hurt in Game 5 and Pekovic got hurt in Game 7.

Did start 5-2 the next year too, and a 4-2 start under Mitchell.

Next games:

Vs Dallas
Vs Charlotte

Let's hope we play @Golden State with a record of 7-3 after those games. That would be nice.

Wow those are some names from the haunted past. I guess when you're used to losing, it just all one long blur

Would you believe that was only 5 seasons ago? Seems like an eternity....

Remember when Brewer played Point Guard for us because everybody was hurt?

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
