Anybody who knows me knows I hate the 3 point shot. I was discussing this with a coworker and he liked the idea, but suggested a change. He said make all shots worth one point. And I said including Free Throws? He said yes, but only one awarded. I really like that. Why do we have to put up with 2 FTs on fouls. All or nothing on one FT seems a lot more entertaining.

That is why I want to trade for Jrue. Should be in 1st team though.
P.S. Klay Thompson deserves to be in 1st team as well. Who said that Butler is better?

They've announced the rookie teams and the defense teams. We should be hearing the All NBA teams soon.

Klay's defense is overrated. He's a good not great on ball defender that has a better than deserved reputation because he looks like a stud compared to Curry's defense.minimus wrote:

I will second the notion that Jrue would be an awesome fit here, especially if we keep RoCo.

Well 80% of defense is off the ball, so given a choice I would rather have a great off the ball defender who's just average on the ball then visa versa.

Here's my idea on free throws: before the season starts have every player shoot a 100 free throws to determine their percentage, then when they are fouled and say a 80% free throw shooter just put 1.6 points on the board and keep playing. Some obvious and perhaps dubious side effects would be there would never be another overtime game again, and toward the end of games players would have to be good at math (or could go back to shooting them the last two minutes). But would be nice to have more non-stop action without interruptions for boring ass free throws.

I think Dieng, Teague, #11 pick, Okogie for Jrue, Solomon Hill should happen! If we want to switch more, then KAT-KBD-RoCo-Wiggins-Jrue might be a solid defensive lineup. Draft Nazreon Reid at 42 and sign a Seth Curry.
KAT/Reid
Saric/KBD/Reid
RoCo/Reynolds/KBD
Wiggins/Jrue/Curry
Jrue/Tyus/Curry

I think your joking. Why are two FTs needed. I like my friends idea. One FT all or nothing.

In that scenario, teams would play the odds and just hack-a- all game. Much preferable to allow 1 point max on a possession than 2 or 3.

In his scenario all baskets are worth one point.

exactly. Scores would drop to 50 or so rather than a 100.

3 pointers suck giant donkey dong and are ruining the game. They are eliminated.

Those changes will NEVER happen in the NBA. Maybe you can start the KGdaBom league and play by those rules to see what people prefer.

That idea would strip so much nuance away from the game, I really disagree with it fundamentally.

The 3 point shot was a desperate ABA gimmick. It had its time as an exciting and special thing. Now it is shot by everybody and takes the fundamentals of working the ball inside out of the game. Move it back about 10 feet so only the best can make it or get rid of it.

The Brooklyn Nets are trading guard Allen Crabbe and his $18.5 million contract to the Atlanta Hawks, clearing the salary-cap space to pursue two maximum free-agent contracts this summer, league sources told ESPN.
The Nets are sending Crabbe, the No. 17 pick in the 2019 NBA draft and a 2020 lottery-protected first-round pick to the Hawks for forward Taurean Prince and a 2021 second-round pick, league sources said. The deal can't be finalized until July 6.
Adrian Wojnarowski
ESPN
It's about $15 million in cap savings as Prince is making $3,481,986 for this season. Then they get Prince who I think still has a chance to be a good player. The cost two non lottery FRPs. Good move Brooklyn.

So ever since the Butler issue became known, did anyone else think if Thibs wasn't so stubborn there might have been a Jimmy for Kawhi possibility?
I know looks like hindsight now, but always had that in back of my mind.
Congrats to the Raptors as well.
