Holiest of cows.

I expected him to be let go by the end of the season. Not after two straight wins.

I'm glad but just wow.

This is wild. Towns playing the best basketball of his career and they absolutely crushed the Lakers today. The team doesn't look like they quit on him or anything. They've been playing with great effort. Odd timing but I guess it was inevitable.

Very odd timing I think but if it was going to happen, better now than later

Fred Hoiberg? Really?

And after a win too?

They must've made this decision a while ago

I thought he would at least finish the year
I'm baffled, especially if Hoiberg takes over. A lot of fire Thibs guys are going to be happy to hear the news then pissed if its Hoiberg who takes over

Assuming glen felt pressure from the fan base... lots of boos for thibs the other night. The fan base got their wish, time to see if fan base is right or not.

Hoiberg is horrific and Ryan has absolutely zero credentials to take over.

Damn I feel for Wolves fans.
As a Hawks fan i know how it is to have awful ownership. This makes absolutely no sense if Hoiberg becomes coach or GM

I thought he should have been given the season for a few reasons.

1. Butler blowing up and screwing us couldn't be predicted (unless Butler really did make it apparent he wanted to be traded months ago which would be a stain on Thibs)

2. They did well in the trade

3. Give him a chance to bounce back with all the pieces in place

4. I dont think you will find your franchise coach during the season

I actually liked Thibs moves as a GM. I liked the Butler trade. I liked the rumor that he tried to trade Wiggins to Chicago before Lavine. I like his draft picks, even though I wanted some other players over Dunn. Really liked Patton and Okogie and KBD. When we did play defense I liked our defense, just crazy that we never do it consistency.

Again I would have given him the season if we made the playoffs we think about moving forward together. If we miss the playoffs, he goes.

My guess is Glenn really wanted to see what Ryan can do in an interim role.

Not too shocking, but I am still very pleased to hear Tom Thibodeau has been relinquished of his coaching duties.

At least KAT and Wiggins have a really good relationship with Ryan. There's that. This ends the TimberBulls experiment though.

It was coming, just surprised it happened now. My guess is that it has less to do with how the team is playing and more with how he handled the Butler debacle. Expect Rose is gone, Taj to be unhappy, Saric to get more of a role.

Seems like as good an explanation for the timing as anything.
