Summer League!

Post#1 » by Klomp » Fri Jun 21, 2019 5:54 am

Josh Okogie
Keita Bates-Diop
Cameron Reynolds
Mitchell Creek
Jared Terrell

I feel decent about the odds the above players will be on the summer league team, along with rookies Jarrett Culver, Jaylen Nowell and Naz Reid. Who else will join them?

We actually have a real nice SL lineup..might be favorites too. Josh, Culver, Cam, KBD are legit NBA rotation players.

I'm not certain they'll all participate, but I don't think it's out of the question.

Reid is a good pickup on a two-way deal. Hopefully after not getting drafted it revs him up. Can see him dominating in Summer League.
I would like to see Harry Froling get a chance to show what he's got as well.

We are already setting our SL roster. That was quick. I'm really happy about Naz Reid. He had to be one of the most sought after UDFAs. If he had been drafted late first round I don't think it would have been shocking. It was a bit shocking to some that he wasn't drafted at all.

That's definitely a possibility. I just think he might be in the running, what with only being the 20th pick and not exactly being a star player in the league. Plus, he's been in town with those other guys basically all summer, developing chemistry.

Josh doesn't need Summer league to prove anything or learn any bad habits from youngsters. Make some room for a Fletcher Magee type.

I'd have been shocked. His body fat % totally tanked his stock, made sense he went undrafted.

That said I'm intrigued. Not very athletic but seems skilled, could be a decent backup which would be amazing considering.

I'm also glad they have a decent playmaker on the team in Culver. I don't think we've had one in SL since Tyus and it should be a breathe of fresh air not having to watch all these shot happy scrubs fumble basic entry passes and miss easy reads.

Undersized, but very talented PF. Better than Amir Coffey.

yeah, sure seemed talented enough and with a great attitude. Rosas seems to really be looking for combo guards, i am thinking we are not looking for a pure point (like Tyus) but more a combo style (like Dlo)

Also, does Naz want the NBA bad enough to continue to reshape his body? If he can get down another 10lbs or so, with his offensive skill and defensive potential, he could play some pf. His success is completely about attitude and work ethic though,
