A good read:

The 2020 offseason is a terrible time to be an NBA free agent, but sign-and-trades could be those players' saving grace.

Even if the 2020-21 salary cap remains at the latest projection of $115 million, only six teams are projected to have any cap space, according to Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports. That means a majority of teams will be limited to some variation of the mid-level exception, whether it's the non-taxpayer MLE ($9.755 million under a $115 million cap), taxpayer MLE ($6.025 million) or room MLE ($5.023 million).

The COVID-19 pandemic looms as another complicating factor for 2020 free agents. If the 2020-21 salary cap declines from the $115 million projection, the six teams with cap room will have less space than expected. Other teams may be more reluctant to use their MLEs if they're approaching (or well over) the luxury-tax threshold.

Since so many teams project to be over the cap regardless of where it lands, those that hope to make a free-agent splash could turn to sign-and-trades if their MLE isn't enough.

P.S. I hope we re-sign Malik and Juancho for team-friendly deals

It's real interesting. Malik could have put himself is a great spot to get a big deal. He was looking unreal to start then started to fall off a tiny bit. If he had a full second half looking like he did early though, he was probably looking at a couple of nice offers. I really hope we lock him up long term. I think he can be the starting 2 going forward.

It would be great if wolves can sign Malik on a 4/50 million deal or something similar to Roco.

Why would Sacramento do that trade?

Yeah, we might need to add something. SRP, Nowell.

Yeah, we might need to add something. SRP, Nowell.

Remove Sacramento’s pick, and they still likely decline.

I don't think so. They will need to re-sign Bogdanovic and later Fox.

Kings already made moves to have space for Bogdanovic re-signing
When Fox will be rfa Kings salary cap will be near 65 mio

But i think that without Kings pic this move have sense for them, but why for Twolves. Pay 20 mio to a starter with a not elite defense is a luxury for wolves

Dane Moore has been my favorite MIN podcaster. He does not work with Wolves anymore. You can write him appreciation words if you have twitter account

Not likely.....my job ties into high school sports activities, so I have a feeling it could be until the fall before I start again.

Can we expect new 1+3 contracts for McLaughlin and Martin signed in transaction window from June 22 to July 1?

Jordan Mickey will not return in Real Madrid. He is 6'7 defensive minded power forward with 7'3 wingspan, played for BOS, MIA, Khimki, Real Madrid.

I wonder if Rosas tries to scout players from Euroleague. It is always a risk see Matt Thomas from TOR or Vincent Poirier from BOS. but still there is a chance to find guys like Danial Theiss or Maxi Kleber.

Jordan Mickey whenever given the chance to play played well. He was always a player I wanted us to pursue.

There is no realistic scenario where we get Wood for reasonable price (15-16mil), but he could be potentially that type of big who can make two big scheme work in MIN.
