Gorgui Dieng is a King and a veteran leader. He could actually help a playoff team if they give him run.

After that KAT 3 pointer, I hated the expression on his face as he ran back on defense. His face just looked blank. He wasn't shouting out defensive assignments to his team, he was just meh.

I don't buy it but I have heard a couple of local media guys say KAT is checked out and over the team.

Then he needs to go.

Get Gorgui and Bell back out there, they were giving the kings fits.

After Atlanta on the 6th I can legitimately see us not winning another game until we face the Knicks...on April 4th.

It is so laughable that the Wolves pay KAT and Wiggins max salaries. For this...!

This team is insane. You hit a million three pointers, Wiggins has a fantastic game. You lose in overtime to the Kings.
You don't shoot well. Wiggins has 9 points. No one can really get it going, you are in a close game you still will probably lose to the Kings.

There is no reason or rhyme to us, we just keep losing games.

He would also help the Wolves if he got more minutes.

I've been listening to quite a few podcasts and keep hearing Clips are looking for C

haven't heard Dieng but Dedmond was mentioned few times, who effectively has same length contract as Dieng

Dedmond is bit cheaper per/year which might make difference for salary matching

One thing this franchise is really in danger of, its losing the fans irrevocably. They have been crapped on for so long and a season like this is back breaking. The fanbase doesn't have a long tolerance for more mediocrity. Like 2-3 more horrible seasons like this and or losing KAT, it could end the franchise.

It's very important to see some success ASAP. Again that's part of the reason why Thibs did what he did. The losing has to stop. Butler didn't want to be a part of this and he screwed us but the move to get him was a move to transform the culture of losing. We reek of losing and mediocre play/heart and it is poison to fans.

Maybe this offseason the team should go to the other Bahamas island and work as a team to help the locals rebuild their homes and communities. Get some good out of this team.

Well at least De'Aaron Fox didn't have quite his career best game. That's sort of something.

Why not give KAT and Wiggins some R&R ? Give Dieng and the gang some run again. Anyway, they have to try some things that exclude KAT and Wiggins as center pieces. Make them fit in rather than having the team act as their servants

The best bigs in the NBA can't carry a team to greatness IMO. It's even harder when that great big is a poor defender like KAT.

Nearly all the best teams have their best players at the 1-3 spots. 76ers are an exception but even they are kind of spotty. I think they could win a title and Embiid is ELITE as a defender, but still they probably go as far as their 1-3 can take them.

KAT can only do so much. Him playing better defense would be a massive help but even still, we aren't going nowhere if we are relying on player like Napier, Wiggins, Okogie, Culver, Martin, Roco, in their current states to lead the way with play making. We need massive upgrades there.

KAT can only do so much? If Kat is the elite player so many claim him to be, he could/should be doing much more. Tell me how we can look better with Dieng playing extended minutes vs. Kat playing? The problem isn't relying on those players to be the playmakers, the problem is those players all defer to Kat when he plays to be the playmaker and it effectively neuters some of them.

Some of it is on KAT. Absolutely, especially on defense. But the problems with the team are far more vast than KAT. He could be a lot better, that's true but the should be far far better. KAT needs to raise his game 5 more levels, the rest of the team needs to raise it 15 more levels.

If this is true, then can you please tell me why we look so much better when KAT doesn't play?

It's wierd. Seems the team stops playing basketball when KAT is on the floor and he is THE focus. They back away and become less involved. When Dieng is on the floor, they stay engaged. Sounds dumb, I really can't explain it, but I believe their is something to it.

Situation with KAT is weird because he is so gifted offensively but by all metrics defensively below average.

One thing that got me irregardless is he's upset about not being an All Star, but the team has lost the last 19 games he's played in. Would having KG longer or in some capacity as a mentor gave him someone who would've made it clear how hard he had to work and be able to say shut up and keep your head down instead of whining to refs?

Does having RoCo playing out of position as safety net really help his D as much as a true rim defender does?

Does having a system where he's more focused on mixing 3s with more post play which could then open up more kick outs and getting teammates involved help?

It's not in our best interest to play him as PF. Never was, never will.

We are getting exposed with KAT as "rim protector" and Covington as PF.

All the above ... basics points, but they all need to be addressed.

Kat needs leadership ... would a KAT/DLo duo help push him?
RoCo is NOT a PF ... neither is Layman. KBD is meh and Bell is under-used.
Our inside out game is under-used/limited ... but I will say we dont want Culver or Okie taking them shots.
