I like LaMelo, a lot. I still take the sure thing in Simmons every day of the week. I put the ball in hands as the primary creator, and spread the floor around him. The fact he is an all defensive player and will contribute in year one makes this a no brainer.

All that said, I can’t see Philly doing this. LaMelo isn’t going to contribute to a playoff run in year one, which is what Philly needs.

Rashad Phillips is a NBA scout and he's followed by multiple NBA players, Chris Broussard and Jon Krawzzenski aka Jonny Athletic

In all honesty, I do not know how you can turn down such an offer. Simmons would provide another ball handler, size and defense. His weakness is lessened by the fact the Wolves can surround him with 3-point shooters in Russell, Beasley and Towns.

Simmons’ age also fits the timeline Rosas previously mentioned. Though one concern is his injury history.

If it only costs the wolves the first and culver do it now Rosas!!

I likd this lineup
Dlo, Beasley, Okogie, Simmons, Kat

Draft Maxey or Terry at 17 (Or Saddiq Bey)

Doubt it will Happen though. I could only see it if they hired Dantoni.

I voted yes. I don't have a clue why Rivers would like Ball who can't shoot well from 2 or 3 point range to Simmons who is very good at shooting from 2 and is a great defender to Balls very poor defender.

I hope the Ball hype gets out of control and GMs buy into it by draft night. The more value the pick gets the better.

Can someone speak to how real this is. Are we still in hypothetical territory? As for the trade itself, Spellman and Evans are not going to be on the team. Evans isn’t good enough and Spellman doesn’t want to be here. So the trade of JJ (a good player but overpaid and necessary for any big money deal,) Culver (a promising young defender whose free throw shooting, 3 point shooting, and BB IQ were all disappointing last season,) and a 1st overall pick in a bad draft for a solid young star. This is a no brainer. Better still if something goes wrong we can trade Simmons for Booker or another Star down the road. Meantime we would be adding a huge height advantage and taking a lot of pressure off of KAT.

I'd do it yesterday.

Can't believe Philly would do it though

Simmons and Embiid don’t work together. Someone like Ball might have shot poorly last year, but Simmons is a complete non-shooter outside 15 feet. He simply can’t and won’t take him, which essentially kills most of Embiid’s value around the rim.

A trade is necessary. I just see them getting more for Simmons that the #1.

If the Wolves could get Simmons for basically #1+Culver they have to take that deal.

Agreed what offers would they get though?
Maybe Denver will offer MPJ and picks. Bulls white and 4? Philly desperatly needs younger cost controlled talent with the absurd contracts of Harris and Horford.

Maybe 76ers really do think Lamelo is special..

He CAN shoot. He is just more efficient at NOT shooting.

Doc Rivers is the only coach ever to blow three 3-1 series leads. He could not manage the LAC locker room, but Brand hired him to manage the problematic PHI team. What can go wrong? I dont believe in PHI as organisation, Brand as GM and Rivers as HC. Feel bad for PHI fans, but I'd expect Simmons or Embiid traded if they cant win.
