If Rosas really wants to compete for a playoff spot, we need at least two vet bigs and hopefully to resign Juancho. Right now we have Towns and Reid, who doesn’t play any D and thus isn’t a good compliment to backup Towns.

As far as a center, my choice would be Aron Baynes. Is ultra physical, which this team needs, shoots it okay for a big and seemed really in sync with Rubio last year when Ayton was out. He’s 33. Will probably return to Suns or get a better offer than we can give though since we’re pushing the luxury tax line.

WCS is an option. Doesn’t provide physicality or shooting of Baynes, but a good defender and KY connection with Towns.

I don’t know what to do about PF. Juancho doesn’t seem starter level on even a borderline playoff team but maybe he has more in the tank. Would prefer to sign a vet like Milsap or trade (Nance/Gordon) and work Juancho in off the bench. If he significantly improves as a defender, he’s not good now, he can earn more minutes in the future. Vanderbilt is a raw piece of clay but definitely doesn’t deserve to be penciled in as more than depth at this point.

For the record, I would comfortably offer Aron Baynes a 1+1 with our MLE, if Juancho and McLaughlin can be retained below the Luxury-Tax.

Millsap is staying in Denver, I think we are going to roll into the season with Juancho as our starter.

I could see Minnesota resigning all of their restricted free agents and signing a player like Dewayne Dedman for the minimum. Not the worst situation.

Baynes did a great job improving Ayton. But I guess is a long shot for us, he will prefer money or contender.

Whiteside is available and the interest is scarce.. He can provide good defense for us off the bench and at times play with Towns. I guess he too don't want to go to a young rebuilding team.

I’m in the minority but I don’t see Juancho as anything more than a solid backup on a winning team. Vanderbilt is being lauded by some as the answer at PF but all we have with him is “hope”.

I’m worried that we are going to get abused at PF unless Rosas can pull something off. We certainly do have some trade capital at Guard to work with, though.

We should probably see Vanderbilt play some rotation minutes before we talk about him as a starter. At this point I’m expecting we’ll play small most of the time.

Better just stay as we are if the names to bring are RHJ or BKD... Geeeeez

Adding players that aren't make any difference for what?

Just roll with Juancho, Layman and Vanderbilt then...

I honestly wouldn't mind Taj back at this point.

Re-sign Juancho, get Taj on a 1year, roll with Jauncho,Taj,Jvando PF rotation..

If Jvando is going to meet the hype Wolves fans are giving him, we should be set with this rotation.

Hopefully McDaniels will be in rotation and impressing by midseason.

Taj is a luxury compared to everything else we have. And i'm not his biggest fan.

Agreed.

I'm starting to think, as frustrating as it might be, that this will be another development season. We see what Vanderbilt, Culver, Edwards, Okogie, Reid, etc have, at least for the first half of the season, and go from there. They've been consistent talking about how the goal is to become a perennial playoff team in the near future and not skip any steps.

We know Rosas... We might know how we start this season roster wise, but we cant pretend how we will end up.
