Re: Beasley Re-Sign for 4 years / $60M
I guess they think the legal trouble is manageable. I sure hope it isn't a sign of things to come.
From a pure talent standpoint, we can now field a combination of All-Star D'Lo, world champion Ricky, #1 pick Ant Man and flamethrower Beasley at any one time. This might be the strongest guard rotation we've had since Sam Cassell & Spree & Hassell.

What happened with Culver, I thought he was a great prospect. Did he was really bad last season to throw the towel with him so soon?

Knowing our luck we will move Culver and he will blow up on his new team and people will be like "How did Minnesota let this guy get away!?" LOL

Btw Joe Harris 4 years 75 millions.
At the end Beasley contract sounds much better now.

This is what I was thinking earlier. As soon as we would see what Harris got, we’ll like Beasley’s contract better. Facts are this just what shooters get paid in today’s NBA.

His shooting (Especially FTs) was horrendous, that form is jacked up..looked like some Markelle Fultz type stuff.
He actually was promising on defense and he attacked for rebounds and was an underrated passer..I didn't like him in college, but he grew on me over the course of the season. I wouldn't trade him just to trade him, but if we can somehow get Aaron Gordon, i'd trade Culver no problem

I think it's going to be Okogie that gets traded and something similar would happen.
Like he's a key role player for some contender and everyone's like "see, Minnesota giving up a guy like this is why they always suck".

People here thought they could lowball and lose Beasley and just sign Joe Harris for 10 million MLE to make up for losing him. ...

Plus, Wood was unrestricted while Beasley was restricted.
Wood got 3 years 41 million bro
About 17 per

Yeah the Beasley contract doesn't seem so bad compared to the Harris, Bertrans, Grant deals coming through. Just gotta hope he doesn't go off the rails. The talent is there.

This is gunshy talk. If they have to move them they will get something for them. All you can hope is that the team would know if they have or haven't improved enough since what we last got from this in games...this time getting close to a year ago hopefully they've kept close tabs on their developments. Okogie was really close in the spring, but that shot has to come or he's expendable. Who knows with Culver until games go live.
But I feel if they were more certain about these guards they should never have drafted one #1 and then also signed Rubio. Including the DLO and Beasley additions at deadline and JMac from the gleague that is 5 guard additions since Culver/Okogie joining this team.

Your numbers are wrong. That would be 13.67 per. It would be 17 per if he got 51.

I don't. The team is going to try and win games and Rubio is just a vastly better player than Beasley.
Beasley seemed like the sort of guy who would have found himself waiting until everyone had spent their money and then being offered a MLE deal at best so I hate this contract offer.

Beasley's more of a JJ Redick type, good complimentary player with his shooting/spacing/off-ball movement but doesn't have creation ability to be "6th man" that can keep offense going when some or all of the starters are resting, like Crawford could do
Rubio can pick/roll, play with faster pace with mostly bench guys to keep offense going
I didn’t think this initially but do think having Rubio off the bench would be a steadying force against previous squads squandering leads.

It’s 13+ million, but Beasley had a much better career prior to his 10-12 game stretch.

Beasley>Harris
Lot younger, much more room to grow, great system fit. Telling you, this deal will look fine about a month into the season.
