Post Games Warriors. Game 1
Good- I liked the effort.
McDaniels looked great on offense and defense.
JMac looked great. Very efficient.
Beasley once again looks like a bargain contract.
Meh- Reid was alright offensively and defensively, but he made several bone headed blunders.
Vanderbilt gave great energy, but he made several bone headed plays.
Bad- I have never seen Rubio make so many mistakes in a game.
Interesting stat they showed during the game, Edwards gets within 5 feet, but shoots a terrible percentage within that frame. Sounds somewhat promising.?

Wonder if Saunders can figure out how to beat this Warriors team next game? It's there for him if he wants to win. Watch the tape dufus.

Why can’t Rubio just run the regular offense?
He could complicate cereal.

I want to see both JMacs play a lot more next game.
Just start Edwards already as well, we're already the worst team in the league, Okogie gave "defense" but provided nothing statistically

Re: Post Games Warriors. Game 1
Culver was actually one of maybe 3 or 4 positive players on this game even though he wasn't really effective offensively. That offense probllem could be somewhat related to others getting all the offensive focus. But obviously he's still a gunshy outside shooter and we've got a chucker taking a lot of those. I did see him getting shut down under the basket a few times with the ball, but they should be getting him the ball before he gets under the basket, not after. He's not big enough to down/up though bigs defending the basket. Defensively he must have been helping his rotations enough to maintain positive in this game. I saw a couple he played the ball carry really tight on. I think he was less than 20 minutes though. I would get him more involved next game but sounds like he might be injured.
Maybe give Okogie the night off next game. I also noticed everyone got into this one late aside from Nowell.
McDaniels rolled an ankle a bit midgame I think. He was really trying to come out of the game but they didn't let him. He slowly walked it off. Hopefully that one doesn't swell up after the game.

Frustrating game. Down 17 after 5-6 minutes, then the rest of the game an uphill battle with an invisible wall at 8 points. As soon as we got within single digits, boom, down 16 again.
Rubio's shot is gone and it's having an impact on his overall game.
He was basically shooting 4/10 and 1/3 from 3 the past few years which was respectable. He's shooting 2/6 and 0/2 from 3 now.
He has lost his confidence again.

Solid effort. Team efficiency isn't good. Too many inefficient decisions.

The effort was there. I dont know where the notion came from that those warriors are easy opponents, they just came back and beat the champions. Its kind of a lottery, if Steph gets hot theres very little one can do; i think he is among the most underrated players in the league right now (along with KD). I didnt expect a win, though its on the table if he has an off day. Usually Rubio is very good at stopping and frustrating him, not tonight. Still i saw the ball move, people move, people being engaged on defense. It makes a difference if the PG is involving everyone vs. trying to prove a point despite all statistics and critics saying otherwise. Again, without Towns this is not a must-win game.

Re: Post Games Warriors. Game 1
Happy to see some effort once again, but there's just not enough defensive or scoring prowess to beat GS with Curry being on fire from outside.
Rubio was reckless, he was the perfect example of what the team did most of the time: he fought hard, but there was no flow to his game and he made some really poor decisions on offense. Scoring-wise he needs to pick his spots more carefully and not get into those agressive spurs that he had in Utah and Phoenix where he'd look to score in consecutive attacks. I understand the team needs someone to do it but it's just not his moment in that regard. He first needs to get his groove back when it comes to running the team efficiently and the rest will follow. It would also help if there were offensive schemes to run and if his teammates knew what to do or where to be, but this is how the HC and POBO have been managing this team.
On to the next game. Hopefully we get to see the same fighting spirit but also a more organized to approach to both offense and defense.

Re: Post Games Warriors. Game 1
If Ant, Rubio, Okogie, or Culver were legit NBA scoring threats we still coulda/shoulda won this game in the absence of KAT and DLo. McL needs to be playing ahead of all three of them.
Ironically ... McL, JV, McD were all deep on the bench, and 16 games later, they've outperformed their competition (Rubio, Okogie, Culver, Ant, Juancho, Layman, Davis).
Once healthy, the 8-man rotation (no specific order) has evolved: Rubio/McL/DLo/Beasley/McD/JV/KAT/Reid. With all the negativity and terrible performances by our fleet of incompetent guards, I look forward to KAT/JV/McD for 10 games. McL is quietly looking more and more legit like many of us felt preseason ... consistent PG that simply gets it.

I’m okay with tonight’s performance. Timberwolves just don’t have the fire power without KAT & DLo to go against the top tier teams in the NBA.
Overall the team played hard tonight but there was way too many turnovers. The starters had 11 turnovers. Wolves fought the entire game and got it to 7 points with 7 mins to go but Curry went MVP mode late in the 4th and closed the game for Golden State.
No shame in losing to the Dubs. See if DLo comes back and we can win on Wednesday. KAT needs to hurry up and come back from Covid too. Need to make up some ground sooner than later.
Quick notes:
- Malik Beasley continues to play hard and shoot light outs this season. He’s been worth the 4 year 60 million contract despite all the off the court drama. On the court, he’s all business.
- Anthony Edwards with the dunk of the year so far putting James Wiseman on a poster. ANT is finding his confidence back after a couple games slump.
- Happy for Wigs. He looks much more comfortable being the 2nd and 3rd option instead of a franchise savior. Wish him nothing but the best.

We all know what Curry is capable of. But if you were watching closeley enough there were two players that gave Curry fits this game. They were both the Jmacs, that is JMac and McDaniels. However instead of aligning minutes of one or both those players to Curry's playing moments, coach Saunders didn't alter anything and kept running Rubio and the game starters against theirs the entire second two quarters.
So while the effort was there, the coaching wasn't there to give them a chance to, for example, remove Curry's ability to get going. This of all things saddens me during games.

Surprised I was, with Wiggins - says Yoda.
I think he was the only one that stopped JMac driving in and he was all business about it. His blocks and overall hands work on defense, even game IQ for that seems much improved.
What we didn't see from Wiggins and the Warriors were really any moments where he was dribbling and stuck thinking in his head what he should do next. Did you see anything like that? That was him in a nutshell while here. Stuck in his own head back then. That seems gone or at least did that game. We all know he's had some games in the past where even his handles came out of nowhere to impress. We'll see if he can follow that up next game.

They don't talk to the same players after every game. Last night was Beasley, Edwards and McLaughlin.

I know. They talk to those who played best or are willing to talk. Apparently the great replacement Leader Ricky and his 11 assists wasn't worthy or willing this game.

Often times the media requests who to talk to. Last night, the No. 1 vs. No. 2 was an obvious storyline, so people wanted to talk to Edwards. McLaughlin was an efficient bright spot. And Beasley for obvious reasons.

Re: Post Games Warriors. Game 1
Just finished watching the game. High effort game, good ball movement but tons of sloppy boneheaded turnovers or or sloppy fouls.
Beasley is a ROCK, has to be up there in the whole league for in terms of lights out shooting.
Im in love with both Macs of this team
Mcdaniel and McClaughlin are just players who GETS IT. They know what they are supposed to do out there and they simply execute. The rookie will become a legit two way player when he blooms out, and seems like a potential triple threat scorer too. We really lucked the heck out in drafting him 28th.
