Post Game Thoughts. At Thunder.

Post#1 » by coolcono » Sat Feb 6, 2021 3:17 am

I was only able to watch the final 5 minutes.
Good- McDaniels played great D. His length will trouble any perimeter shooter.
Reid- Had a great game offensively.

Meh- D'Lo- He made the last 3 pointer, but the game shouldn't have come down to that. He is still better than Wiggins.

Bad- The announcer said the T'Wolves cannot wait for Towns, ............. (at last) Juan to come back. Juan can take more time coming back.

That inbounds pass pissed me off so much that I couldn't even be happy about that game winner. SOOO dumb and this team always finds ways to try to lose.

Let's see what happens tomorrow. I predict KAT comes back against the Mavs on Monday...we just gotta take care of OKC one more time.

Hope Nowell is ok..he reminds me of Beasley a lot

Agree.

I don't really feel happy about the win but I know i'd be so pissed if we'd lost that one. This is definitely better.

Good:
Okogie only played 9 minutes while Vandie played 21
Nowell instant offense off the bench

Meh:
Dlo jacking some shots up as usual but also made a few good ones
Antman cold offensive game
Reid still zero basketball IQ but he contributed offensively

Bad:
Why is okogie still starting?
Saunders I'm looking at you
Juacho please take another month off if you can bruh

Reid, Nowell, McDaniels, and Vanderbilt have all earned rotation spots. Assuming DLO, Beasley, Edwards, Towns, and Rubio are also in the rotation, that leaves one spot for Okogie/Culver/Layman/Hernangomez.

You got all that from 5 minutes?

Dlo shot 53% or more. That's better than Meh.

I have been saying this since last season. Nowell is like Beasley light. If you give him minutes, coaching, and a scheme designed to get him open 3s he could turn into Beasley.

Okogie needs some time away. Minute restriction suggests injury, and honestly, he has been off for a while. Getting KAT back is a big deal, but I wonder how much he will actually play when he gets back. Between the wrist and the Covid he has played in 3 or 4 games out of 22. His conditioning will probably need work and his game will likely be off.

Acquiring dlo has just been an overall disaster thus far for the franchise (of course! Who could have guessed it?)

The majority of this board was more than happy to get dlo in exchange for wiggins and pick.

I can't stand you and your incessant crying about Dlo all day, every day. I can see why crying is on your mind, but don't put it on me.

Today is my first missed game of the season. They won it of course and I'm happy for them, for Dlo, Beasley, Nowell, and all the players I've been supporting while some of you cry about them day in and day out. So many begging endlessly to replace all of them. I come here to see happy people after a win and then I see you posting your player hate again. Can you just let us have the win for a day?

D'Lo was fantastic tonight. I have absolutely no complaints, even without the game winner. He was getting everyone involved and taking good shots. Can't ask much more out of him.

Ant.. bad game, but man is he oozing potential. His handle is legit, and hes starting to see the floor better. His shot selection will come around. I'm keeping my Ant-Man stock. He's so smooth getting around the court, something Wiggins lacked despite his athleticism.

I love love love Malik Beasley. I love everything he brings. He goes 110% every minute. There was a play where he dropped a pass to Naz and he finished through contact. Beasley was pumping his fists and screaming at the top of his lungs.

The other hero of the game for me is Jim Peterson. He's been a bit off this year, rambling on about stuff, but man is he hilarious. You can actually feel his frustration at times. "WHAT in the WORLD was that" lol

EDIT- Almost forgot.. Jake Layman! Thanks for finally joining the rest of the squad!

Instant scorer, Has a quick trigger, sub par handle so he uses his ability to move without the ball very well. They both have the same type of mid range floater as well and both play with an edge.

Nowell might be in the same situation Beasley was in in Denver. Has scored in double figs 6 straight games, 14pts in 16 mins tonight
