Post Knicks game thoughts...
At some point something has to change right? I don't even care about the losing if we had some semblance of looking like a team. There is nothing. Earlier in the year, Edwards had a shot at a game winner and missed, some people were upset - fine, but I thought to myself, ok, they want to let him develop as a closer, if not him than Towns right? But, Edwards has a bit of a better handle at attacking and has shown he will kick or dish, I get it. What the hell happened tonight? There is nothing. No consistency, no roles, no execution....it's just all free lance, take it each game, throw **** on the wall basketball and it is wrong. This roster is better than this, and quite frankly it is bull. If we are gonna tank, then do it correctly, but that means developing your young guys and trying to win. If Saunders can't do that get someone who can.

Good- Towns is far and away the best player on this team.
Rubio was hot tonight. Facilitated the offense well and shot a good clip.
McL looked great with the first team offense as well.
The best line up we have is Kat-Beasely-Edwards-McDaniels-Rubio.
Meh- Okogie looked better than Vanderbilt tonight.
Bad- The entire bench was anemic.
Vanderbilt played his worst game in a Wolves.
Same thoughts on Reid as always.
Other thoughts-Culver over Okogie every single time. I miss Gibson.

Re: Post Knicks game thoughts...
KAT killed it in the 4th.
Rubio played well in the first half
I LOVE McDaniels..favorite player on the team... had 6/4 but he had a great impact in the 4th on D
Beasley just can't get any good looks for him, teams are having a man stick to him like glue full time.
Vanderbilt looked so bad.

Edwards is absolutely making the boat take on water. He's a raw rookie who can't tell bad from good most of the time. McD looks better better because of the defense.
As for Jmac, I can be wrong about it, but he's UFA in the summer. If so I don't see the point in developing the guy after Rosas failed to secure a contract for him. If you give him the time and he performs he's off for greener pastures in the summer. What's the point for him to stay on a constantly losing team in a cold climate with a GM that held him by the balls a year ago?

JMac is good 2nd-3rd string point guard. By no means a starter in the NBA. He looked great against reserves offensively, quite challenged due to length on D. If the wolves go into tanking/developing mode its fine to start him (in case he is part of their future). If they want to win games, no way. He'll probably move further back once DLo returns which is a shame, but hes really too short to play SG.

Ant has proven he is not a starter yet. Last 3 games 3 of 15, 3 of 14, 3 of 11. If Wiggins did that you guys would be calling for his head. He takes spot up long 2s and stupid double or triple teamed off balance attacks which either get tipped or just miss of the backboard or rim. Edwards is also too ball dominant and ends up depriving Beasley of shots. Ant must not start until he learns to play team ball.

He's got TS% of 47. Only one and only Mr. Okogie outsucks him here. Both are good for lottery balls this season. So maybe they serve a purpose

He also gets lost on defense and is not in good position for rebounding. With his ups he should be a beast on the glass.

Re: Post Knicks game thoughts...
I didn't even get mad this time. I knew we wouldn't finish them off, so no surprise and no disappointment.
*Beasley couldn't get open and since we don't run anything, a defender is glued to him so he's not an option. I saw a single instance in the entire game where we ran a play to get Beasley open. Towns screened, Rubio assisted, Beasley made 3. We can't do that late in the 4th, right? Finch!
*Towns looked bad on defense for 3 quarters, but his 4th was incredible. He owned the paint.
*Rubio is finding his stroke, but again, he'd be way more comfortable running plays where he would know what his teammates are going to do. Most of his shots are him running out of patience because there is no clear pass. Finch!
*Edwards is back to square one. Tunnel vision, bad shots, bad defense. That turnover-turnover-air ball sequence was just an example. Remove the bad habits, don't promote them. Finch!
*We've got 3 more players who have lost all their confidence: Vanderbilt, Okogie, and Nowell. Nowell was beyond terrible tonight.
*Layman looks ready to contribute. I don't get why he's not playing more. Finch!
Next games are going to be really interesting. From the rotations to the playing style.

„Literally“, i see. As written elsewhere, with all due respect, i dont feel like investing my time here, i‘ve seen many of your previous posts and i dont think we would get anywhere. On top of that we‘ll get to see a whole new coaching approach soon hopefully so there is no merit in looking back. We shall see wether the new coach promotes JMac over Rubio and/or DLo, and parks their contracts to play behind him, as you seem to favor.
For me, as a Rubio fan, i just hope he gets out and into a better situation, so i dont really care wether he plays behind DLo, or JMac, or totally elevates the team as a starter (even though the last scenario would make a trade more unlikely).

Rubio is our most tradable asset right now. He is a vet with a reputation for making offenses run better. His poor numbers are easily excused by being on a bad team with a bad coach. His contract is a bit of a problem, but playoff teams will want the depth he offers. The question is whether we can get a late first or two seconds for him. I think we might. That said, JMAC should be converted to a reasonable deal and be made our second string PG (starter until Dlo is healthy,) and given a shot to prove he deserves it. His lack of size, defense, and rebounding will be weighed against his speed, dribble penetration, and shot creation.

You see, this is you talking about things that are meaningless to who is actually a better PG for this team's current plans.
Contracts being parked behind a two way player...
Rubio getting wasted on this mess...
These things aren't about how good a player is. But your post tried to claim a player isn't worthy of starting on this team, or any team. So with all due respect, stick a cork in it next time and just speak truthfully about what drives your opinions.
I also hate to see how Rubio doesn't fit what this team was trying to do. I want him to get out from under it.
I understand the reality of the contracts tied up in Dlo/Rubio making it difficult to see happen. Which is why I hated Rosas undercutting JMac's deal to a level that locks him below others.
But none of those things changes the reality that he's the player best suited to run this team's plans that they have. The only things that keep more people from begging for it is that he was undrafted and that he's shorter. He should have been the #2 behind Dlo this season.
Just stop posting like an arse about it because it lets you favor your dreams for Rubio. You don't have to falsely put one down to post up for Rubio's sake. You should be addressing the scheme if you want Rubio starting here.

Re: Post Knicks game thoughts...
If this last 10 games or so showed us anything is that Vando is really limited to be a starter in this league. Dude shows effort and hes young but hes so limited on so many areas of the game (shooting, finishing at rim).
Pairing him with Rubio or Okogie in any lineup is asking for trouble.
With McDaniels on the team im actually in favor of trade him if the right opportunity (package) comes up.
He doesnt offer much to be honest.
