Apparently Okogie starting isn't changing with a new coach. He shot better Saturday. Let's see if he can make it two games in a row without a goose egg display.

Paul and Booker will go off and make us look stupid... Not looking forward to this one to be honest - I think it's going to be a massacre

Probably.

But we are the TimberTrolls.

Sucking day in day out against every team of this League, even the worst ones ad then suddenly look like legit NBA stuff at some random night versus a contender it's just part of our culture.

Might happen tonight.

I wish, at least.

Let's hope. We are sorely due for a win. Wolves fans are starving.

I just want them play tough defense.
Or the most approximate thing this roster is capable to display, at least.

Then, let's pray bricks go in instead of harming boards, bending rims or forcing ballboys to run into the locker room tunnel to recover the ball.

I guess that would suffice.

He's a replacement starter, not the full-time guy

Honestly, I'd rather a cardboard cutout of Beasley start the game instead of Okogie...

That's a self-developing process.

If he manages to nail a couple threes per game, his defense will keep him starting.
If he keeps sucking from long range, he'll probably end up as a bencher.

His D hasn't been that good lately either... Without that he's a negative at best, a disaster at worst.

I'll just post here what I posted in the other thread.

Rubio had more wins in the bubble than currently with Minnesota for the season so far. We suck so bad.
Hope we start winning games soon though

Each player has frailties and strenghts, WolfAddict.

He's one of the few guys at this roster who can play actual tough defense.
Some nights that will be more impactful and some others it will be less but I can understand Ryan and Fincho wanting him out there.

Tough defense is like vegetables.
I probably prefer steaks and chips but I need some of it in order to be healthy, even if I prefer something more greasy.

You've won me over with the bolded part alone... Hands down the best analogy I've ever seen :)

Gratitude.

I know we're not watching the best possible Josh, you're right.
But as I said, I understand Ryan and Fincho... they try their best with manpower available in the roster and it's always hard to find the right balance.

The way I see it Okogie has improved his finishing at the rim. His 3 point shooting is his biggest flaw, but if he stopped camping out in the corners he would be just fine. His high motor is perfect for setting off ball screens and/or playing PNR. His handle is good enough for drive and kick. What I have been advocating for over a year is to try and teach JO the game from the PG perspective. Everything about him screams out of control. If he could slow the game down his value would go way up. His defense on ball is still a net positive even if he needs to be better at recovering from screens. A good coach can teach him to fix the minor flaws and he will not only be playable, but productive.

Okogie just tried a pass and he was deflected...

Deflected by the rim.

This will be a fun game to watch.
