Beasley is missed so badly...he was like the only reliable 3 point shooter this team had among guards/wings

I will never understand this. We want.. correction we NEED players that can defend, not to mention shoot the 3. Why would he not get minutes.

Not to mention this year is a development year due to it being trash. Why not play and develop him. Nonsense.

Edwards 22pts on 21 shots
Book with 36 on 22 shots

that tit for tat isn't going to do it

Must edit: Book at 41 in third.

He has 10 fts made tho

So at the time then, removing FT shots, it would have been 31pts on 23 FG shots for Book and Edwards would have been 18pts on 21 FG shots. Same applies. And Book did it with only 1 made three. Seems if he's going to bother with twos those are easy for him.

So I stopped watching at about 10:30 remaining in the 4th, but I have to ask how is 8-19 and 2-8 from 3 a whale of a game? To make it worse he ended 8-22. Also, since when is 25% from 3 point range a good number?

This was a team loss from top to bottom. Everyone had a bad night, we couldn’t guard Booker, and we couldn’t get any kind of consistent rhythm. Nowell, KAT, Okogie, Rubio, JMAC, and more were just off their game.

Well... it could have been worse.
They probably didn't actually need best DBook version to beat us but they got it the same.

Blondie Jugancho Layman did some good. Brunette Jugancho Layman still work in progress.
Nowell was toxic (he had 'one of those nights'), Jaden and Cul Verd irrelevant, Vandarra disminished.
Nor Pueblos neither The Rapper were specially inspired.
Nobody was saving (to some extent) Baldiebeard Jordan.

We just can't defend consistenly four quarters in a row. Maybe we did it barely a couple of games this season.
And that's really a shame... while we're on it, I'd say we're not that bad at all.
We lack toughness (badly) but we defend pretty efficiently for long streaks during a game, then we loose focus or breath, everything tears apart and we became a black hole.

If defense is not sustainable and consistent, then is no good defense at all no matter how fine you look in a due moment.

Since we mostly suck when it comes to nail shots, that inconsistency leaves us chanceless.

I can't even tell this is purposedly done in order to protect the pick.
I'm more about to say that we're just this bad.

Agree on the first part. Edwards needs to play a lot smarter and stop taking poor shots. It doesn’t help that he is currently one of the few players left on our team that can create his own shot. Either way, I hope he grows and develops or we are In for a long one.

Side note, melo is looking SO good. Makes me kind of jealous and I didn’t see that coming. He plays a lot more efficient, at least lately. Plus high IQ and can pass and rebound. I still believe in ants long term potential but is not looking great right now.

Edwards had 21 shots completed by the end of the third. The Timberwolves were trying to go tit for tat with Booker by using Edwards in the last five minutes of the third. Edwards must have had 1 shotmiss in the 4th. He made two FT. Maybe they gave that up or he gave that up when they saw the percentage being missed?

Okogie went right back to gooseegg mode after the last game showing a shot pulse.
Nowell had one of his bad nights after another good one last game, I'm guessing an assignment change threw him off.
McDaniels might have been in a doghouse after struggling shooting in previous games. But it also might be good they backed off him a bit. It was looking like he was hitting a bit of a rookie wall shooting in previous stretch of games.

When your rookie is taking more shots than your star player, we are building failure. We have to let go of this stupid idea that every rookie we take needs to be a star straight away

There was a reason Melo was almost universally thought of as the #1 guy by draft analysts. This is exactly how he played the last half of the year in Australia. Edwards is also playing exactly how he played at UGA. I don’t think either is a surprise. Is definitely a Rosas failure.

McDaniels must have a bad attitude or not practice well or something. Not only is he a promising rookie that should be getting run on a **** team, he's a guy that we really need on the court. It's like we don't play him to get worse now and in the future.

I dont think so. Id bet on just edwards and mcdaniels, all others are end of the bench guys who won’t contribute to anything

Edwards just put up Wiggins like efficiency, again. This was what was known about him in college. When are we going to admit this? I know, I see the possibilities with him too. But it appears it's just not the complete package.

Give JMac the 30 minutes Edwards had before the third quarter was done and I guarantee you his efficiency is better shooting and he ends the game at double digit assists as well. He's not going to help you much from end of bench, non-practicing, non-leading, no contract filler roles.

These takes have nothing but recent draft fluff to them, sorry. I hope they develop McDaniels correctly if not anyone else.
