Ant is still a build breaking move until proven otherwise. He destroyed the team build and all these guards and points. That is a GM failure written in stone to me. We are currently stuck in a roster that has to change a lot again. He is right now tonight proving just like every game. He's an onball point Harden. Rosas dumped his prior plans for him. No way to suger coat that it sets the team back years even if he is as good as James Harden himself by year two. Need a team that can play together and having two point guards that are affable and will just go stand in the corner when Ant is playing with them isn't a winning solution. The team is just playing 4 on 5.

I can both sugar cost and dispute it. If Ant turns into Harden lite then he has a ton of trade value. I agree that Ant needs to develop, but don’t assume that he cannot be salvaged.

Please point out where I said he can't be salvaged. I said drafting him and playing him/starting him/ has destroyed the team build Rosas had been putting together. Many of them aren't the type of players that should be around someone like Ant when he's the focal point and spear.

I truly believe Rosas thinks he can get very good production out of Russell, he may be wrong, but he believes it.
Yes, graham came from the nets.

I've always assumed that Priogini, who was very close to DLO in Brooklyn, had alot to do with bringing DLO to the wolves.
Dlo, Jmac, who was other player they brought over that first year. Was that where Graham had been prior?

Your logic is definitely strange. My point is the Wolves and Rosas get some slack. Look at the Lakers without AD and Lebron, or how badly Klay being out messed up GSW. Take out Curry also beside him and they awful. Missing KAT for 20 games early and having Dlo playing through knee pain until he went out as well was a major negative. Beasley’s suspension is also messing with him now. Give them time to play together healthy and with the rookies showing more development before rushing to judgment.

You said “ No way to suger coat that it sets the team back years even if he is as good as James Harden himself by year two.” My point is, if he is that good and we want to trade him we can get a small fortune and get the roster back on track. Although I am not sure why you would want to in that eventuality.

Lol I was agreeing with you. Sorry if it didn’t seem that way. If the Heat Big 3 only played 10 games together because of injuries, Riley wouldn’t be rushing to blow up the team in the first season. Same applies for Boston, and GSW

Again, point out were I said he can't be salvaged. You need to start reading and stop responding as if something completely different was said.

Setting the team back years happens when you spend time adding players over time for some kind of plan, and then just throwing that plan under the bus when you luck into a #1 choice and choose a player despite all that future time and planning. So now we have all these players the team's spear doesn't jive with. Therefore you have no complete team yet again. People are making all kinds of claims that he can just fit in with some kind of obligatory position assignment that isn't him. He is who he is and he's made that abundantly clear.

"build breaking move"
"has destroyed the team"
"failure"

In your opinion, clearly it's over. The team is destroyed. Forget moving the team, they should be flat out contracted from the league all because they drafted Ant Edwards.

Well, search out my posts and you'll find I've stated they should be contracted for cause numerous times. I'm not fleeing from those statements. They shoot their own foot every time almost like it's intentional. I don't know if it's fear of trying, fear of success, fear of that moment that takes risk to get to that last step. Don't know. Possibly it's never been meant to be anything but a farm team for others. Go ahead contract them at this point for making the whole NBA look foolish if you ask me. I sure feel foolish for wasting time on them.

Again, no forward looking statements were ever made about ANT's future except to claim he's continued to play in a style that says he's targeting a Harden North type of player as I called him predraft. That's pretty esteemed company if he could even get near it. But that doesn't change who he is today as a limited rookie and terribly inconsistent shooter every other game. As I've maintained all this time, it was a mistake to loft that kind of inconsistent and limited player into any kind of high minutes or starting role and displace our starting capable players. Yes it destroyed the season. What do you think last place now is after endless failed seasons and draft picks.

As I've already said, everything from Preseason on could have resulted differently had they never drafted him and forced this to happen. Towns may never have hurt his wrist, Dlo may never have needed scope surgery, they could have played just above .500 ball the whole season or better. Right now they could be in a race instead of the annual footnote they force themselves to be. You force me to bring this back up because you can't handle them getting criticized at all?

Wiggins +#8 or DLo.

I'm pretty sure we could get a better player today with that package.

The problem to me is that if Wiggins had stayed in Minnesota, he would have continued to be horrible. We can’t compare his trade value to GSW Wiggins, we’d have had MIN Wiggins. It’d have been another season annoying Towns, and another season of mediocrity. I am no lover of Russell, but I can see a future for this team with him, that I could not with MIN Wiggins.

I’m not defending Rosas or this deal, but I am certainly grateful that we didn’t lose a pick in the top 5 for this deal, which could have meant giving up a franchise player.

I'm honestly not sure if we offered Dlo for Wiggins straight up that GS would say yes :banghead:

It doesn't make a lot of sense with a healthy Curry and Thompson next year. Meanwhile, the Wolves made the move for two reasons: Wiggins had to go, and the team needed a scoring PG next to Towns.

Yup. And even if Thompson was out next year, I still don't think GS agrees. Wiggins has turned into their defensive specialist who can get 18 ppg.

Really? Have you looked at his stats? I wouldn't call him a defensive specialist unless you mean it in the same manner as Okogie is the Wolves' defensive specialist.

I mean, he is though. He can guard 2-4 for the Warriors. And even looking at his AS, he nearly doubled his highest DWS while here. He's no young prime Kawhi, but he's a legit defender now.
