It’s kinda funny to think about JB and the wolves. Looking back to his departure in 2018 only KAT and Okogie are still around. He may still own us, but this isn’t exactly his former team.

True, but Kat is still here and that is the ass Jimmy wants more.

I said back in the day and it's transparent now, we had to keep JB and trade Kat.

If you can trust the rumors that were floating around the organization in recent years the team might consist of Butler, LaVine and Towns right now if it wasn't for Glen Taylor's:
a) Veto to include Wiggins in the Butler trade
b) Refusal to pay superstar Butler the max. while a simple eye to eye conversation with Wiggins was enough to convince him he was worth the max deal.

If he made the right decision just once in these two cases: Wolves are a playoff team right now.

As great as hindsight and rumors are, let’s clear some things up.

1, Lavine was injured when we traded him. Putting aside he couldn’t defend, rebound, dribble, or really do anything else but shoot, we had no idea if Zach would be as athletic as was before the ACL tear or when he could be back.
2, Wiggins was showing signs of promise and contributing well back in 2016. There were warning signs not to give him the max, and when he demanded it we should have traded him, but not including him in the Butler deal was not a bad call.
3, the rumors I heard were that Butler was going to be offered the max and we would have 3, but he didn’t like Wiggins or Towns and felt that he had a better chance to win a title elsewhere before he retired. He planned to retire at the end of his next and final contract.
4, You don’t trade a 22 year superstar in the making for a player 6 years older than him saying he plans to retire in 6 years. The issue was we needed to trade Wiggins instead of maxing him and then tried like hell to get KAT and JB on the same page.
5. The Butler trade was a massive mistake. Butler did not want to be on a team that needed him to win. When he was healthy we were the 3 seed competing for second. When he got hurt we barely made the playoffs. Butler wanted to be on a team that was ready for a title and ours was not it.
