ORL board, including Howard Mass, is happy with the loss.

I'm fine with the win, the highest we can get record wise anyways is a 6th pick. Which would still give a 9% chance for the no. 1 overall pick.

That’s significantly less than 40 percent...

the 9% is for the no.1 overall pick. I think you're thinking of top 3 pick.
The worst to the third worst record each have a 14% chance of a no.1 overall pick.

You are right, I am surprised they aren’t even resting KAT against tanking teams , wolves would have won this one without him.

My hope is that the new owners have been promised a top three pick by the league in sale of purchase agreement lol

Right now there is a three-way tie for 4th-6th worst record. If the season ended today, our 40.1% chance of keeping the pick would drop to 31.8%. If we end with the sixth worst record, it will be 27.6%. Our chances of the #1 pick drop from 14% to 9%.

I am shocked that the NBA is letting OKC just send a healthy Horford away from the team. Everyone knew before the season they would intentionally tank, but after winning too many games early, they are being exaggerated in their attempts to lose. They are 1-21 since they fully committed to tanking.

I like the new playoff system that gives twenty teams incentive to keep trying. But those bottom teams (except us) are in full tank mode, and have been for weeks. I still think we need a system that takes into account the last few seasons, to minimize the value to one year of late season tanking, and to award top picks to the teams that have been truly bad, and have shown it for a few seasons.
