Was going to be a long shot for Edwards. Good on Lamelo and the Hornets, he definitely brought excitement back to Charlotte.

Edwards was so bad that first half, impossible for him to comeback and overcome LaMelo, although he tried. Will be fun to see who becomes the best player long term.

The best ability is availability and Ant played all 72. Ant is legit rookie of the year and Ball is the political choice.

Ball is a clown

Ignoring the delusional post above me, this is pretty well-deserved/expected. Anthony Edwards had a spectacular ending to his season, but LaMelo's play was more consistently positive-impact. Had Edwards come into the League playing even adequately and ramped up from there, he likely wins it, but the rough start definitely dug a hole that was too difficult to dig out of. Despite how unprecedented the midseason improvement was, LaMelo legitimately set a high-bar. Is what it is, next season Anthony Edwards has the capacity of exploding, impact-wise.

Guys this isn't some huge robbery. There are clear arguments for Lamelo's win. He earned it. Just be happy that Ant turned it on so much that he made people think twice by seasons end. ROY doesn't mean Edwards can't be a great player, he is on an awesome path right now and this just may fuel him more next season.

I think my only gripe is if they are going to award lamelo for his spectacular play despite playing +20 less games than they should have awarded embiid the mvp as he had the better individual season and better team record. If they weren't going to use that criteria and based it on the amount of games played than edwards should have won the ROY.

Couldn’t care less about the Rookie of the Year even if Ant had won it.

Thrilled to have him on the squad. Glad we have a guy with legit upside. Both of these teams needed some positivity and found it.

Congrats to Ball. He’s a hell of a player. I’m thrilled the Wolves have Edwards and wouldn’t trade him for Ball. The HOF is filled with nonROYs.

Was hoping for Co-Rookie of the year at least. Since both played well, oh well

Ball had three things going for him

1. Professional experience - he came in more ready as a result of playing over seas.
2. Balanced game - he doesn't do anything amazing, pretty avg all around. He does a little of everything.
3. Michael Jordan...and publicity

Everythign is going as planned.

There's no doubt in my mind that will be Antman. IMO he's already passed Ball by.
