LaMelo is the only one that surprises me a little. All-star scrimmages aren't for the bigs.

Thank goodness, was concerned that it would be worse than that.

I was hoping that it wouldn't be that bad. Damn. Two weeks is a long time and it could easily be 3-4 weeks. This one hurts. He's hard to replace.

Hopefully Prince can step up and Vando is healthy to help replace Jaden. Assuming Okogie will get a little playing time depending on how the game is going.

True, but with around 4 weeks to the play in and 4.5 weeks to the start of the playoffs, the margin between long time and rest of season is very small. At this point we are all hoping for a healthy MCD in the playin/playoffs (whichever applies to us,) and any regular season games are a bonus (and an important step to getting him back into playoff shape.)

Sure we could hope it wasn't going to be that bad, but looking at it two weeks only would be amazing. However, I do agree with you it could easily be 3-4 weeks and that would really suck.

It is likely going to be an entire month, but the injury easily could have been a season ender.

Yup. Last thing you want to do is come back too soon. Sprained ankles tend to linger and affect play if rushed.

We're going to be playing so small. Especially of Vando is still hurt. I'd rather see Layman than Okogie if I'm being honest. Josh is a very good defender, but he's worthless offensively. Layman is at least a decent shooter and he's a pretty good cutter.

He should definitely be back by the NBA Finals. :D

Maybe not. Canis has an article talking about this, and Finch says it’s a high ankle sprain. I think he is out at least 6 weeks. SMFH. This is made worse by the fact that with V8 banged up, and Prince and Naz both having back spasm issues lately we are just too damn small.

Ouch! Horrible news. Yep. 4-6 weeks. Prince will be needed to fill a lot of those minutes I would think.

Not a doctor and thankfully never had a high ankle sprain, so I don’t with certainty. I did a quick Google search and it said 6-8. https://www.footcaremd.org/conditions-treatments/ankle/high-ankle-sprain

Obviously the sooner the better as we love Jaden and wish him the best.

This might help some. Maybe it's not so bad?

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the following injury update on forward Jaden McDaniels, who suffered a lower leg injury at the 41.9 second mark of the fourth quarter yesterday at San Antonio:

An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) taken today at Mayo Clinic Square by Dr. Kelechi Okoroha on McDaniels revealed a left ankle sprain. He will be sidelined indefinitely and reassessed in two weeks. Further updates to his progress will be issued when available.

In 67 games (31 starts) this season, McDaniels is averaging 9.4 points on 45.9% shooting, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

“UPDATE

Chris Finch confirmed earlier this morning at shootaround that Jaden did indeed suffer a high ankle sprain, which is... not good. The likelihood of Jaden returning during the regular season is pretty low at this point, but all we can do for now is hope that his rehab goes well and that he can be ready to go come postseason play.”
