Re: Trade Talk (Part Nine) (READ FIRST POST)
The Wolves failure to make any moves while waiting on Simmons is something I've suspected for a long time. I think that stance made sense for a while, but we are pretty much at a point where Gupta is going to have move on and finally do something to improve the bench rotation (especially the bigs rotation).

Re: Trade Talk (Part Nine) (READ FIRST POST)
I have some concerns that Sachin Gupta will be willing to make a bad trade for a big name, to try to get ARod and Lore to remove the “interim” prefix to his GM title. The new owners have been very up front about how they want to bring the very best people to MIN, and if Sachin does nothing, he’s not going to impress them.

How does being interested in Turner, a C, mean they want to move on from Randle, a PF?
Looks like clickbait to me.

Plausible to me. Randle hasnt played as well this season and fans dont appear enamored with him. Think it depends on one's optimism about Toppin.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Nine) (READ FIRST POST)
Left field question, if we could get Randle, would we want him. I could see a three team deal sending Turner to NY and Randle here. Might cost us Leo and maybe MCD or Naz. I wouldn’t give more than 2 of the above 3 nor would I give Nowell. JO might also appeal to Thibs as Thibs drafted him in 2018. I don’t watch enough NY games to know if he is a better fit than Turner, but on paper he rebounds better and scores more. Here he would get less shots but also be less well defended. 6’8 isn’t very tall but his weight is listed at 250, which would be big enough to defend Cs, especially when paired with a 7’0 wingspan. What do you guys think, any NY fans or league pass people care to fill me in? I am honestly asking as I have seen very very little of Randle.

1) ORL are tanking, but even with Suggs and Isaac they are bad offensive team.
?s=20
2) ATL are #2 offence, #28 defence
MIN IN: J.Isaac
MIN OUT: Beasley, Okogie, two protected FRPs
ORL IN: MIN top5 protected FRP 2022, Beasley, Cam Reddish
ORL OUT: J.Isaac
ATL IN: Okogie, MIN top10 protected FRP 2024
ATL OUT: Cam Reddish
Why for ORL? They get more balanced, prepare to draft a bigman in 2022
Why for ATL? They don't want to pay Reddish, get an asset and defensive minded Okogie.
Why for MIN? Get all-in and build defensive identity. Huge risk, very bold move
Towns/Reid + Knight
Isaac/Vando/Prince
Edwards/MCD/Layman
Beverley/Edwards/Bolmaro
DLo/Nowell/JMac

Isaac hasn't played a game in over 2 years and there is still no timetable for his return.
You do NOT give up two 1st round picks for a guy that has yet to prove he can stay on the floor.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Nine) (READ FIRST POST)
I mean I love the idea of Isaac, and I coveted him in the draft, but the reality is he's played 136 games in 3.5 years - and is still not back form an ACL after 17 months.
I was wrong about the 2 years though...he did play 30 minutes over 2 games in "the Bubble" before getting hurt again.
He should be considered "damaged goods" enough that Orlando would have to trade him at a discount - not a premium.

Woj is reporting that Reddish has been traded to the Knicks.
Correction: Info on hoopshype was off. The real trade is
Knicks receive: Cam Reddish, Solomon Hill, 2025 second-round pick (via Brooklyn)
Hawks receive: Kevin Knox, 2022 first-round pick (via Charlotte, protected 1-18)

I think Isaac would be a terrible fit with the personalities on this team.

Maybe they plan to play him as a small ball 4? If so they may be moving on from Toppin.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Nine) (READ FIRST POST)
Beasley, Bolmaro, Layman and a top 7 protected first for Jeremi Grant
Prince, Okogie and a second rounder for Ibaka and Batum
DLo, Bev
Edwards, Nowell
Grant, McDaniels, Batum
Vando, Ibaka
Towns, Naz
My only hesitation is that the Bev Nowell combo is apparently not so hot together and we still wouldn’t have a lob threat.

Bolmaro is this year version of last year Nowell: he has zero trade value for other teams and a lot potential for us.

I don’t buy that a recent first round pick that has barely played has last years value of Jaylen Nowell.

I have been championing ATL as a destination for Josh Okogie.
This trade opens minutes that would make him even more valuable.

Players who were highly drafted on promise but haven’t shown a lot on the floor, often have widely different trade values, depending on different front offices. This is magnified for Euro prospects.
Beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder for players like Bolmaro. It generally takes a solid offer to see them traded, because the team that drafts them often sees them as pretty beautiful. In this case though, we don’t know if the reason Bolmaro is here is 100% Rosas, or whether he was Gupta’s choice as well.
