These are the type of low ball offers you are going to see frequently now.
That's why I am saying for two years that Towns needed to be traded while his value was high...his value has taken a huge hit to the point where you are getting 50-60 cents return for your $ now. At the same time keeping him means the team will continue to hover around no mans land the way they have done in recent years.

Two years ago you could've gotten $1.5 for your $ return.
One year ago you could've gotten $1.0-1.2 for your $ return.
This season you will get $0.8 for your $ return at max.
Next season you will get $0.6 for your $ return.

This is a trade on Bleacher Report, with no reality from the actual trades that would be proposed by a GM.

If I said trade JO for James Harden it doesn’t mean that Harden’s value has fallen to the level of JO or that JO’s value has risen to the level of Harden. All it means is that I said something that everyone should think is stupid. KAT’s value is at an all time high given he is still in prime but with serious seasoning and with unbelievable shooting. Add to that defensive improvement and a real effort to complain less and lead more. KAT is an elite big and an elite in the league. He has HOF written all over him. Anyone can suggest a low ball, it doesn’t mean KAT’s value has fallen, only that the writers think we are both desperate and stupid.

That’s probably as realistic as it gets when Boston is involved. They always lowball haha.

I am told Avdija is the best defender in WAS roster rn. Okogie, MIN top5 protected pick for Avdija?

The Wolves should be holding onto their picks, not offering them, especially lightly-protected ones.

Picks are overrated. Development and scouting processes are underrated.

Towns is by far our best player. I get frustrated with him, but he’s improved defensively and his offensive efficiency is incredible. Do we have any other positive players towards winning? I don’t think DLo is. Ant is sometimes, sometimes not, his efficiency is still not good, but he’s absolutely a future star. Just not there yet.

Towns is an absolute top 20 NBA player. He’s just not a #1 on a really good team. But we cannot move him unless he wants out. You don’t find talent like that very often.

The whole point of trading for Simmons would be to match him with Towns.

Why would Was want to mess with their hot start?

I think the following statements are true

1. MIN’s primary goal this year is to reach the playoffs.
2. MIN has an ill-fitting roster, which will require trades to make the playoffs.
3. MIN’s individual pieces are either bad offensively bad defensively, or both, which hurts more in the playoffs.

From those statements, I think the Wolves only have three keepers right now.

Towns (great offensively, average defensively and improving)
Edwards (good offensively, below average defensively but rapidly improving)
Beverley (average offensively - spot up three’s, and good defensively)

I think all other players should be highly available, WFL is correct, that most of our players have started the season slowly, and with the Wolves history of losing, their trade value is low right now. I think we may need to make some trades on the edges to get more wins, to raise the value of our bigger assets, like DLo, Beasley.

I would aim for finding a vet big PF that can simply be part of our rotation, and make an open three. He doesn’t even have to be much of a scorer, so his trade value won’t be high. Hopefully we can find a deal like we did for Beverley, moving pieces to a better situation.

PJ Washington

Thad Young

Kelly Olynyk

Theis

I thought PJ Washington was promising. What happened? He now seems like an afterthought. I’ve always liked Clarke, but he comes with a lot of the negatives Vando has on the offensive end.

I would be ecstatic if the Wolves could get Theis. I think he would go a long way towards filling the massive hole the Wolves roster currently has in terms of size, rebounding, defense, and toughness.

I do believe that a smart, hard working guy such as Theiss would make wonder to our team. He is so good at setting drag screens, boxouts. He is a team first guy, gives consistent effort. He is basically opposite of our current young players who seek flashy plays. And he has 36mil/4yrs contract.
