Re: Around the League 2021-2022
Cleveland, Memphis, Phoenix, Philly, and Chicago are all in the bottom 10 for 3pa per game and they’re all 4 seeds or better so clearly there is more to the game than 3s.
The real reason 3s impact the game so much is because there are a bunch of **** or mediocre teams that spam them. Mostly because either they don’t have a better offensive option or they have a bunch of young player who take a ton of bad shots.

Of those other three teams that are top-four seeds currently, two of them are in the Top 3 in 3-point volume.

It's impossible to deny that today's style of play in the NBA is far less entertaining than the style of play in the 80's and 90's.
Yeah, I loved those 81-80 scores with both teams shooting >40%.
Watching players chuck 3s isn't even basketball to me.

That's encouraging, but too many examples to the contrary.

Which just goes to show that you can build an awesome team in a variety of ways, which is a good thing for the league imo.

Different strokes for different folks, brother. If they refereed the way they do now back in the 80’s, the scoring would’ve been quite a bit higher. The rivalries of the Lakers, Celts, 76ers and Pistons was phenomenal and physical. Todays soft players would’ve never survived if they played in the 80’s.

Basketball at it's best in the days when Lakers, Celtics, Pistons, Bulls and Jazz dominated.
Although in 1976 the ABA and the National Basketball Association merged, the NBA resisted adopting the three-point line, seeing it as a mere gimmick, but in 1979, the same year that then-rookies Larry Bird and Earvin Magic Johnson debuted, the league finally adopted three-point shooting.
If only the NBA had continued with the correct choice of seeing the 3 as a gimmick. It was fun for a little while, but anybody with any vision could have predicted what would happen in the future and the mockery the shot has made of the game today.

The 76ers are taking a shot on WCS. Hope we didn't make a mistake not beating them to it.
The Philadelphia 76ers will sign Willie Cauley-Stein to a 10-day contract.
Cauley-Stein appeared in 18 games with the Dallas Mavericks this season before he was waived.

Kemba shutting it down for the season. I wonder if Thibs will get blamed for not being able to make it work with Kemba?

New York is in a bizarre situation, they really fell off hard this year. Maybe they will turn it around at some point.

Yes but will it be enough for Thibs to keep his job?

Why not go after WCS? Not much of an offensive player but a pretty good defensive player and an outstanding lob catcher. We need size!!!

1. WCS signed a 1 day with the 76ers.
2. WCS has been out quite a while with an undisclosed personal issue.
3. We are waiting till March to sign a backup C to stay under the tax.

Lakers got absolutely clowned today. Like the type of beat down you would see us take in the past when we had nobodies. That has to be brutal for guys like Westbrook and Lebron to go through, embarrassing, the Clippers were flexing hard, Reggie Jackson was vicious.

Embarrassing for Lebron yes. Westbrook cost them Caldwell-Pope, Harrell, and Kuzma. You don’t get to be embarrassed when you are cause of the problem, at least not embarrassed by others.

Re: Around the League 2021-2022
Kenny Smith last night said that if you put Anthony Davie on any Western team they are in the playoffs. That is complete BS. I don't know why people think that one player can totally elevate a team to be good. Davis played in New Orleans for several years and only mad the playoffs twice. If your team is trash you aren't turning them from a 25 win team to a 50 win team.
Anthony Davis is not that amazing, he is a really good player and when he is playing at his peak, he can be MVP level but he isn't good enough to take some of these trash squads and instantly make them a playoff team.
