Like with JMac, curious to see if there are any options/non-guarantees Looks like both sides met roughly in the middle (Rosas was more around 3 million, and Vando's camp at 6)

It is a bit high. Not that it can't work out, just high.

I have no problem with signing him, but it must be glorious to be an NBA player. A fringe player in the league like Vando getting almost 5 million a year.

Seems like a good chunk but.. Vando was flirtung with double-doubles in many games last year, as long as he has that energy or better its fair deal.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Re: Wolves sign Vanderbilt (3/$14 million)
Both JMac and Vando seem like minimum type guys. But right now Vando is our starting PF, so I get why he wanted $$. With unlikely bonuses and only a partial guarantee on the last year, it sounds more like a 2yr/8-9m deal.
Desperately need to make a deal for a PF. Vando is such an offensive killer. He literally has no offensive skill. Not even hands. If he could reliably catch passes around the rim, he’d at least be a roll threat. But dude has hands of stone. He’s should be an energy guy off the bench for spot minutes.

Re: Wolves sign Vanderbilt (3/$14 million)
He was tied for third in winshares (with Rubio) last year despite playing so few minutes. He's a very productive player for us and regardless of whatever his market value was at this point, he'll easily be worth this contract going forward considering the giant hole we have at PF.

Re: Wolves sign Vanderbilt (3/$14 million)
I think it's a fair deal for a player who is going to be in the rotation. If he develops a remotely passable jump shot this could turn out to be a steal.

Re: Wolves sign Vanderbilt (3/$14 million)
I did not expect so many people to be weary of the deal on here. I think at worst it’s a market value deal and at best it’s an awesome value deal. If he doesn’t show any signs of improving they can pull the plug after 2 years too.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Good get. Vanderbilt was great with KAT and should start if there aren't anymore additions.

Re: Wolves sign Vanderbilt (3/$14 million)
Perfectly fine with Vanderbilt starting at PF next to KAT, hopefully he worked on his finishing and FT shooting this summer.
He was a high energy big man that played with an endless motor. Was able to switch and guard perimeter players as well. Just can't shoot or catch the ball to save his life

Re: Wolves sign Vanderbilt (3/$14 million)
While I’m glad they resigned Vando, he’s simply not a starter (maybe not even a rotation player) on a playoff team. If he was another team would have paid him. His struggles on offense - and even something as simple as catching the ball - severely mitigates his pluses. Further, the loss of Rubio will likely hinder him on offense even more.

Re: Wolves sign Vanderbilt (3/$14 million)
Like the deal. Think the team likes him as he was in Vegas for SL with the big dogs. Overpay for what he’s done but might be a steal for what he can be. Either way it’s not a crazy deal that’s detrimental.
