Going to be a hyped opening night. We should get the win tonight and if we don't people will be pretty disappointed. In these early games I am hoping to see Beasley and Ant provide some better scoring punch.

Honestly, a loss tonight, against a rebuilding Houston team, would destroy all the goodwill the team has garnered since Finch's arrival. If either Edwards, Russell or Towns was not playing, you could maybe use that as an excuse.

If a simple lost in one game destroys all the goodwill is that have very little self-esteem.

Excluding the Vikings, am I wrong to say Minnesotans are bandwagon fans?
A loss tonight would result in the casual fan saying, "Nothing ever changes. They are still bad." Keep in mind we are talking about the Rockets here, not the Nets or another playoff team. People are expecting the Wolves to challenge for the play-in game at the very least.
As others have posted, the best thing that can happen is for the team to pick up a few wins in this early stretch.

18 games into last season, the Wolves were already 10 games under 500 and it was pretty much a meaningless ride the rest of the way after that.
I expect that Finch will have us ready to play. I also expect the Rockets to come ready to play. Should be fun to see our Wolves play a game again where they have a chance to make the playoffs still.

Efficient offense and gritty defense… This is all we need to do to make the playoffs. Just keep it simple and execute… Finch Factor.

The key tonight will be ball movement. Dlo and Ant need to facilitate and trust they will get the ball back and get their shots. Boxing out would also be nice. I have faith in our defense and motivation, our shooting might be cold (I hope not) but with good defense we should weather the storm. Overall I think we got this.

If we don’t curb stomp this team with ease, I’ll be disappointed.. and if we give up a double digit second half lead and go on to win by 4 or 5, ill be scared into thinking not much as changed.
This should be an easy win….do not make this difficult and let them hang around

I hear what you’re saying, and agree, but HOU has some very talented players in Wood, Porter and Green. Step on their throats early and don’t lift your foot until the final whistle.

Not a lot of tickets left for this game, which bodes well for fan excitement. Hopefully, the wolves capitalize in these first 5 games.

Our defense is going to give up a lot of threes. If we don't lock down the other areas we are in trouble, I expect the defense to be rough for the first few weeks, hopefully, we have our offense ready enough to make up for it.
