Post Game Thoughts. Rockets.

I was only able to see the last part of the 4th.
T'Wolves had a huge lead. Looks like the starters played well.
Our 3rd stringers are terrible, but at least Bolmero looks like a more promising version of Culver.

The only good part was the first 3.5 quarters.

This game was just fun. So often in years past when our shots were not falling we were doomed. Instead we weathered the storm with strong defense and then pulled away. When our guys got hot we fed the hot hand.

Individual player thoughts. Someone get Okogie a cape because he is a defensive super hero. Beasley still needs to go to that damn lost and found. His game is out there somewhere, he really needs to hurry up and get it back. Dlo was kinda sloppy tonight, yet still scored 22. Ant and KAT were just fun to watch.

Active defense helped early when 3pt shots weren’t falling. Lot of energy by the team.

The end of game line up felt like a mash up so not going to get into that right now.

Quick thoughts. KAT and Edwards great. DLo aggressive but shots didn’t fall early but had nice stretch in the middle. Okogie had some offensive issues at times but still felt like one of his more complete games. McDaniels great all around as didn’t force it, disrupted a lot on D and was the type of player that you need with this line up…efficient shooting and had like 4 steals and 3 blocks. Beasley had some blocks and played better D than I expected so his lack of knockdown (but not terrible) shooting wasn’t a hinderance…might be his best all around game. Reid looked good.

One game against a team that will not be good, but seems like Finch might have a good feel for the right rotations.

Finch coaches his ass off down there. Arms always outstretched between the players, bench, and refs, trying to make connections. He’s fun to watch coach, actually!

I want to qualify this by saying I am a big Finch fan, I even started a thread about my faith in him. That said, I felt very nervous and a little angry seeing KAT and Ant in the game so late with such a big lead. One sprained ankle, injured wrist, pulled hamstring, and then where would be? I am all for keeping your foot on the gas, but there is a reason people don’t always play in blowouts. Also I was a little surprised JO didn’t get more run despite his dominant defense. That said, I can see giving MB some time to try and find his shot.

These first three games are huge to see where we are at and if we can beat bad teams at home. 2 back to back home games against a Zion-less Pelicans team before the Bucks and Nuggets.

This, and I think it sends a statement to the disrespectful media and Twitter fans who constantly talk down the Wolves. Building confidence and giving extra motivation to our young players can only be a good thing. Plus it just feels really good to win a game with defense after all this talk about not being able to play it a high level.

He is my biggest hope when we will face good teams with rookie coach such as DAL, POR, BOS

Loved what I saw in terms of energy & defense..need to keep that up the next 2 games against a Pelicans team without Zion.

KAT & Ant looked like 2 stars on a mission

Kat looks like he’s making a leap with his new body. He’s much more fluid out there with improved foot speed. The coast to coast jam he had made me do a double take to make sure it was him.

Ant + D-Lo give us our own splash brothers. Once they start bombing away it gives us opportunity to pull away in games.

I think Okogie should be full time starter. He will flourish with consistent role, so much so that we will probably lose him in free agency.

Beasley working on defense was nice to see.

My takeaway, KAT is the best player on this team and may be considered a top 10-15 player in the league after this season (please stay healthy). He’s just too good offensively.

The team clearly enjoys playing with one another. Defensive intensity is real. I’m going to wait until we play better/bigger teams before I stop worrying about PF and our lack of size/bulk.

Green looks really thin and not that strong. I wonder if he will get tossed around a lot the next couple of years. I feel people give him too much credit for his 18 ppg in the G League last year. Sure that's impressive for a teen, but Ant would have scored 30+. Even when Ant was struggling at the beginning of the year when he got a chance to go up against end-of-the-bench guys in blowouts, he scored with ease. Green may get there, but I think it's going to take him awhile.

Right now, I like Barnes or Mobley as ROTY over Green

Barnes is a brick, ROY will be Duarte even though he’s like 26 years old.
