State of Wolves Media

I'm pretty shocked that its 2021 and yet there still is little content to consume when it comes to the NBA. Sure there are a couple of Wolves podcasts that did a recap of last night's games. But that's about it. Most of the national NBA podcasts didn't even have an episode that came out today. There were probably three or four that I can think of that did.

So in a time when it seems like everybody has a podcast, I find it a little confusing that I have like less than 2 hours of content following a night of 11 NBA games. I'm not suggesting that like all of us realgm posters fix this by each starting our own Wolves-centric podcast. Just think there is a huge void here and every year nothing seems to change. Feels like my options are local Wolves media, the premier NBA podcasts, that are usually only twice a week (Lowe, Simmons, etc.), or the Locked On podcasts of the world.

I know sports media is experimenting with certain platforms, but it kind of sucks that RealGM is like the only reliable place to get reactions and commentary about every game. You can try tuning into KFAN I guess, but only then you get like 20 minutes of Wolves talk in a 3 hour show. Hard pass.

I know RealGM is in a way a media company and so want to say that (a) love this site and appreciate everything it offers (b) feels like I am missing something and so if you have any other go-to sources or places for all things Wolves/NBA, please do share.

Also, I got League Pass for the first time and it seems like they don't let you access replays of the games right away... Is that always the case or does someone need to be fired.

Yeah, the lack of podcasts today is mad when you compare it to other sports. As you said, 11 games to discuss. It's the 1st look at 22 of the 30 teams.
Fair enough the first few weeks are a feeling out process, but still there's a big appetite for a early reaction to the 1st look at each team, the rookies, the new coaches etc.

Mackey and Judd were fun yesterday. They might be the go-to radio guys this season.

For your in market team...that's the case ...due to blackout laws, etc. But should be able to watch any other game w/out that 2 or 3 day window?

I go to Mackey & Judd a fair amount on YouTube where I can get specific to just what sport news I'm chasing on given day.

Spotify provides access to some great Wolves content. Ben Beecken / Locked On Wolves, Mackey and Judd, Dane Moore, Jon K, and some lesser known pods like Bleav in Timberwolves. There's plenty of Wolves content IMO.

In addition to those already named, I enjoy listening to Henry Lake after Wolves games on CCO (or streaming on Audacy).

Also listing a few that I have found that I haven't listened to as much as Dane, Beecken, etc:

- Timberwolves Tip to Tap
- The CnD NBA Show
- 10,000 Layups
