Do the best always complain

Post#1 » by winforlose » Thu Nov 4, 2021 9:48 pm

I have been thinking about this the last few days and I wanted to throw the question out to the community. KAT argued that he is not whining but rather is so passionate about the game that he argues with the refs because it matters too much to him. While I reject the argument at the premise, I do notice that Harden, Doncic, CP3, Beverly, and many other players who excel at one or both ends often complain and argue with the refs. While I agree this can and often does cause negative outcomes long term (like not getting back,) it does raise the question “Is it really the case that a leader doesn’t behave this way?” More specially, why is it okay when some stars do it but not for others?

I also want to point out that in a league where the integrity of the game can only be maintained by impartial officiating, the refs are famous for being partial. The whole notion of the superstar treatment, by definition is a corruption of the game. When KAT is allowed to be defended physically he is less efficient then when a quick whistle comes in. The same is true of plenty of players. So why should KAT by virtue of being on a bad team get subjected to 1.5 times (insert your own number this is just an example,) more contact than a Jokic or Embiid simply because he is in a worse team? Doesn’t it stand to reason that if the same amount of contact was prohibited with every player that the inferior players who don’t get the whistles would look that much better?
