I honestly like this draft A LOT.
This is one of those years where I wouldn't even be mad at either one of the top 5 picks or playoffs.

I know nothing about the draft besides the two guys linked above. Last night was the first time I’ve seen Banchero. He’s going to be able to score.
Holmgren probably had a more well rounded game though. I’d love either on this team. I think as of right now, they probably wouldn’t have gone in front of the top three in this years draft. But lots more season to play.

Aren't we looking for more BEEF than Holmgren possesses?

Holmgren’s body is a huge question mark. If he even had Evan Mobley’s body, who is skinny himself, there would be a lot less question marks. But I’ll say this for him, for an absolute string bean, Holmgren plays tough inside. I don’t know if it’ll work in the NBA, but he’s not going to back down.

Behold: The dream front court of McDaniels & Holmgren.

Yeah I think this is the key. From every report I've seen, Holmgren is TOUGH. Not only that, but length like his can make up for weight deficiencies.

It seems like destiny that Chet will play for Minnesota.

I could bench press back both guys at the same time.

This is a draft potentially worth unloading Kat in.

Sucks that Bates is not currently eligible for the draft

Bates stock has taken a dip the last couple years. He went from a generational talent as a 14 year old, ie Durant 2.0, to a guy that is “just” projected as a top 5-10 type of guy in 2023. He’s still really good.
But the generational 2023 talent is Wembanyama. He would have gone #1 over Cade Cunningham if the NBA would have allowed him to declare as a 16-17 year old. He’d go number in 2022 and unless injury occurs, he’ll go #1 in 2023. Despite being two years younger, he completely outplayed Chet in the U19 world championships. Almost single-handedly won the game for France.

Why isn’t Wembanyama in this draft? he will turn 18 in January.

Chet this year, Wembanyama next year. Then adding whatever they can get for KAT along with Ant should be a solid foundation for the new rebuild. A heck a lot better than the post Love rebuild.

You have to turn 19 in the calendar year in which the draft is held. Wembanyama doesn’t turn 19 until 2023. He misses the 2022 deadline by less than a week.
I’ve only seen him play one entire game, the U19 against Chet. I’ve seen other highlights but only one complete game. My best description is he’s Gobert if Gobert was a very good shooter all the way out to the three point line and also a Mobley-level passer.

I assume/hope we'll be picking in the late teens (or even lower). Keegan Murray is the FULLY FUNCTIONAL version of Jaden McDaniels and could be available when we're on the board.
