15 games in and we're tied for 10th in the West. I think it's worth having a thread where we discuss our chase for the postseason.

We are absolutely still in position to make a playoff push. Consistency will be key. If we can get to .500 over the next 30 games, we can then build from there to push for a 7-9 spot. We got some runway but we need to start winning some games, can't be dropping 3 games straight frequently.

This team has most of the tools. Our defense is a lot better thanks to Finch. Our offense is inconsistent but should improve with time. The only thing we need is more rebounding. The sooner the trade happens the better our seed will be. Odds are we are going to be in the play in at least. Assuming of course we stay fairly healthy.

With the play-in games, a 35 win team is probably in playoff contention for the entire year. If we’re not at that level, we really do need to blow it up.

If Philadelphia beats Portland tonight, there will be a four way tie for the seventh seed.

It's early in the season, but we can't afford to lose to the Pelicans on monday.

Need to stay as close as possible to the 4-10 teams (I think Suns, Jazz, Warriors will stay top 3 and separate themselves form the rest

Good teams win the ones they are supposed to. That’s what we did with the spurs and Kings and what we need to keep doing. Winning some tough games is necessary given how we started, but this season is still very much ours if we rise to take it.

What do you do in this thread?

This must be what Ultron felt like when he gained consciousness.

I like the wins but am one to Keep it in 8x10-game sets … toss the high and low and there’s the traditional 82 game season.

Pelicans, heat, Charlotte, 76’ers will round out our 20 games … right now we are 4-2 in this second set. Be nice to round out at least 2-2 for 6-4 pace. That’s about all I think we can expect from this squad right now.

You guys seem to be gelling...defense is really stepping it up. Just need consistency from the offense. Patience...

One good question is how many games did we lose that we should have won and how many did we win that we were expected to lose. The Pelicans and Magic games were both expected wins. We should have taken at least one of the three Clippers games. Trading with the Griz and losing to the suns is unfortunate but not unreasonable. So we are 3 or 4 losses heavier than we should be. But, we did win the Bucks game so subtract one from that total. My point being a lot of teams struggle at the beginning and while we have been disappointing, we are not so far off track this season cannot be saved.

Pelicans - if we're really serious to be at least a play-in contender. This should be a win.
Heat - Beating General Soreness is always a treat. We should win this.
Hornets - Hope Edwards shows the league that he IS the better pick over Ball. And of course, should be a win as well.
76ers - Show them what they've missed out by not getting our players. Which should be a win as well in order to drive that point.

Honestly, I'll be elated if we come out 4-0 in these games. And we'll be on 7 game winning streak by then. So there's your bulletin board material to give them that drive to put it all the game.

My hope is that this will be a good thing. We are feeling it right now, and no better time to engage a good team than with well deserved confidence and a full head of steam.

We are equal distance from missing the play-in or getting home court in the first round

We get Miami on a 2nd night of a back to back too. So that's at least an advantage to us.

It's funny. Multiple talking heads said on NBA podcasts today that the Wolves weren't going to be a play-in team, which fine but they are saying this after the Wolves go on a 4-game win streak and the other 3 teams vying for that last play-in spot (SAC, SAN, NO) all had horrible weeks and look like tanking candidates more than anything at the moment..

If I were a betting man, I would put money on the Wolves making the play-in tournament.

They might also be missing Duncan Robinson. That would help as well. Also Bam is sick and might not play in our game. I am including the espn link to their injury report, it is more extensive than you would think.
