Starting 5: Net -2 per 100 possessions
Swap out DLo for JMac: Net +30 per 100 possessions

Per the Flagrant Howls podcast

Can you please elaborate? I could use more context and would rather hear a summary than seek out the pod. Thank you in advance :).

I guess all we need to do is fire Ryan Saunders to turn this ship around.

Ryan wasn’t fired last year.

16-20 was with Finch.
As was 30-16.

I heard a pretty amazing stat.

Rudy Gobert is averaging 14 PPG on only 5.1 FGA’s, and is leading the league in rebounding. And he’s a -4.5!

This isn’t Gobert’s fault. He’s doing all we expected of him. It’s a failure of the other players to adjust, and take advantage of Gobert’s strengths.

This is very good at proving a good PG matters. Now imagine if we had a great PG. Jim Pete said it last night, JMAC needs to hit his open shots, and Anderson needs to play more. My own two cents, Anderson should play PG at least 10 minutes per game.

Fun fact, (at least in the sarcastic sense,) we have now played 3 teams in a row with multiple key starters missing. We have blown double digit leads in all 3 and have gotten within one possession on two. If the trend continues in Miami, I have to wonder if that wouldn’t be some kind of record.

But, games at the Cavs and 76ers were going to be very tough. No matter the circumstances, we got wins where we might otherwise have had losses. The magic should have been a forgone conclusion as well, but after last year, escaping Orlando with a win is a plus as well.

After the win in Phi, we are 8-8, which would only be good enough for the tenth seed.

However, in this crazy season where all the teams are mediocre, we are only two games away from the 2 seed.

Borrow a quote from the late Dennis Green - "But they are who we thought they were!"

The only great wolves started the season 9-8. Although, how we end up 8-8 (or 9-8) this time is a little disturbing. We may catch another break with the Heat on a tried road trip and playing back-to-back without their big 3. To channel Yogi Berra - A win is always better than a loss.

McDaniels last 6 games:

33.7mpg
12.5 points
4.5 rebounds
1.5 assists
2.3 stocks
0.9 TOs

on

57.5% 2pt FG (6.7 atts)
43.5% 3pt FG (3.8 atts)
70% FT (2 atts)

He's also shot 42.8% from 3 on 3.3 atts per game over the last 14 games after starting the season 0-7 from 3 over the first 4 games. Some seemingly solid progression offensively from McDaniels on a roster that is even harder to get shots with the amount of mouths to feed.

I was just looking at the standings and shocked to see we only have two more losses than the Suns who are the top seed. We feel like trash but we are right in the mix for the top seed in reality. If somehow we can find an identity and start streaking. Like win the next 12 of 16 or so, we can be sitting pretty.

Everyone has been talking about how tough the west is this year and it looks to me like the west is beating itself up. Why does SAC look good? They are 6-1 vs the East. Here is everyone vs the east to date:

Suns 1-3
Jazz 1-3
Sac 6-1
Clips 2-1
Pels 4-3
Blazers 2-3
Nuggets 2-3
Mavs 4-2
Memphis 4-3
T'Wolves 4-2
GSW 3-4
OKC 4-5
SAS 4-2
LAL 2-1
Hou 1-4
Minnesota Timberwolves- 2024 NBA Champions :D :D

Fun fact. With 127 points, the Timberwolves scored more points than all of yesterday’s winners except two teams. The Nuggets and…. The Wizards
