With Zach being an all-star and one of the best SGs in the league & Wiggins, who this year is "potentially"(lol) an all-star, which core would you take knowing what you know now of the 2016 core guys that aren't on the team..
Can't forget Ricky who was having one of his best seasons before he got hurt.
PG - Ricky
SG - Zach
SF - Wiggins
PF - ?
C - KAT
or
PG - DLO
SG - Ant
SF - Mcdaniels (Bev is the starter, but Jaden is a core player)
PF - Vando
C - KAT

Well Edwards alone tilts this enough for me. The rest is just icing on top. I’d take DLo over Wiggins and Rubio. Vando, Nowell, McDaniels are the sprinkles on top of the icing.

I was thinking the same thing, but with Zach being an all-star, I thought it was a little premature to pick Ant over him, but it's pretty clear to see the type of player Ant will become, which is a perennial star.
If I had to choose between him or KAT, it wouldn't be that hard of a choice..good thing we don't have to make that choice

Re: Current core or 2016 core
Now.
I don't hate that 2016, especially if they could have used the capspace to sign Millsap instead of blowing the entire load on Teague+Gibson (say what you want about Thibs as a coach but as a FO he was a **** buffoon). But there's a fair number of variables to consider that sway the outcome when looking at the present. Does Zach still develop into what he is without his own team? Does Wiggins grow into what he is without going to the Warriors? Does Rubio ever develop the way he did without leaving? All too hard to tell.
But it's nice to see everyone from back then doing well. Rubio's injury sucks but the Cavs are soaring, Wiggs is legitimately helping the Warriors, Zach obviously a key part of that amazing Bulls team and KAT finally helping pull us into decency. All we have to do is get Dieng onto a good team and we'll be sweet.

The core of that team was a couple of 3rd-year guys and a 2nd-year guy. The core this year is two 7th-year guys and a 2nd year guy.

I am a MASSIVE Rubio fan (like, I'd "turn" for him in a heartbeat) but even I'd take this year over 2016.

I love Rubio and Zach but Ant alone hypes me more than anything wolves related since 2003-2004

I wish we had Ricky and Zach instead of Bev and DLo. I miss seeing Zach play here.

Damn, a lineup of Rubio-Lavine-ANT-McDaniels/Vanderbilt-KAT would've been sweet to watch

V8 is better than G. KAT now is better than young KAT. Bev is better than Rubio. Dlo now is better than Lavine then, and Ant and Wiggins are a wash. Wig was better in 16 then in any year other than this year, and Ant is inconsistent but has more upside. Overall we are miles ahead of 2016.

Re: Current core or 2016 core
Idk, those 2016 guys playing together with everyone on this season's level is probably a team with a better record than this year's team. But this unit with its defensive upside and Ant's projected growth is easily the better team for the playoffs and long-term.
