There are rumors out there saying Gupta is interested in all three of these guys. I’m curious about our interest.
Considering the different asking prices (I don’t want the poll to simply be, “who’s the best player?”), which player, if any, do you hope Gupta trades for at the deadline?

Please expand the poll to include Julius Randle, and Christian wood.
Edit to include: Voted for Turner assuming he is healthy, but would rather have either of Wood or Randle before Turner.

Re: POLL: Which Big Name would you Prefer?
I feel like everyone of the big names would require a serious overpay for the Wolves since all of them are coveted by at least a bunch of other teams.
Also there are a lot of questions marks about the positive impact and their fit (Simmons: attitude, demeanor, fitness, lack of scoring; Grant: teamfit, desire to play for winning team; Turner: fit with Towns and Vando).
I would have loved to pursuit a cheaper and younger version of Al Horford to have another veteran presence for our bigs on the team but looks like that such a player does not exist.
That said I voted for keeping our assets or making smallish moves like finding a cheap huge body like idk Hartenstein maybe that you could throw for a few minutes at JV and the other bigger guys when KAT is in foul trouble and a more reliable 3pt shooter than Beasley is. Other than that I'd say: Let the team grow and mature.

Re: POLL: Which Big Name would you Prefer?
Simmons is big risk, big reward. He’d also be significantly more expensive than the others. As much as I see the downside, he’s still be my pick if we could get him and keep our “big 3.” You play to win championships, he could get us there. Not sure about the others. He could also tank our franchise.
My next pick would be Harrison Barnes. He’d fit in perfectly as a starting forward with Vando.
Grant would be next. He’s younger and better defensively than Barnes. But not the shooter and I’d worry about how he’s deal with his role here.
I don’t like Turner. He’s not a great rebounder. Although known as a shooter, he’s essentially league average in that regards. Def can defend the rim but not sure KAT would be great defending the perimeter. Seems like a recipe for our best player getting into foul trouble.

Re: POLL: Which Big Name would you Prefer?
Ben Simmons is comfortably the best player, but I get the vibe that Daryl Morey is holding him to get James Harden.
The other two names, the answer is super dependent on cost. I think Taurean Prince, Jake Layman, Leandro Bolmaro, and a Protected First for either is relatively fair.

I voted for keep assets but it’s more make move on the margins. Chemistry is good and don’t want to disrupt it. Just want the Okogie/Layman/2nd or similar package for another big type move.

This is basically where I am at. I like all 3 and prefer Simmons, but not at the costs I hear rumored.
I'm fine with giving up the guys above (Or Okogie, McL or Beverly though I love him) and first round picks. I think McDaniels and Vando are way to valuable to give up. They are perfect role players to this team that make minimal $$$ for the next few years and won't get the return that they are worth.

Re: POLL: Which Big Name would you Prefer?
I thnk we definitely need another piece. As is we are probably going to make the playoffs, great chance to make the play in, but I don't know if we could win a series or do any real damage. I think a Myles Turner would bring a lot to the table, that said, I don't want to mess with Vando's role too much.
Staying put is fine but I think we will still struggle and be about .500 for the rest of the season which isn't a terrible situation. A Myles Truner may give us the push we need to finish the season with about 50 wins and cement a better playoffs birth. There would be some growing pains with that though and we may lose some games during the adjustment.

Simmons is an overpaid defensive specialist and a headcase and will NOT be happy being the fourth option here.
Grant and turner are overpaid and overrated and have delusions of being superstars and being a first or second option , same with Collins.
Wolves need to find another young Vando type.

Re: POLL: Which Big Name would you Prefer?
Good question. From a pure talent standpoint, any of the three would be fine. But....
Simmons would paralyze our cap and force us to play 4-on-5 unless he really embraced the PF position, and I think it's evident after this year that he's not particularly receptive to suggestions about his game. I have real doubts about a guy whom, faced with the choice of developing a better jump shot or losing $20 million, decided to give up $20 million. I was saying years ago that Ben is a diva and the evidence is now clear to all.
Utilizing Turner best would probably mean moving KAT to PF, which I am loathe to do since he's balling out at 5 and playing better from a defensive standpoint. Taking the team's best player and moving him to a brand new position is the embodiment of the idea of fixing something that's not broken.
With Grant, it's more of a case of too many cooks on offense. That's why you bring in Grant, if you need scoring, and in between D'Lo, KAT, and Ant in the starting lineup we already have plenty of guys willing to shoot. Then again, having a guy who can put 20+ ppg on the board if one of our other stars goes down is a real plus, and something like that always seems to happen to us late in the season, and given D'Lo and Ant's positional flexibility, it could work. So - yeah, guess I'm in favor of Grant for the right package.
In order of preference, then: Grant, no one, Turner, Simmons.

Re: POLL: Which Big Name would you Prefer?
I'm rounding to no significant move right now. Turner's hurt. No thanks on the foot problem for big dudes. See Walton, Bill. Simmons will cost too much to win the bidding war at this point. IMHO Grant will (not maybe, will,) significantly disrupt our team chemistry. I'd be ok trading non-contributing expirings this year for expiring's next year to preserve the flexibility next year to make a mid season deal, but TP is expiring, and I'm now more hesitant to deal him because he's contributing, yet maybe we should deal when his value is high??
IMHO, let's see where a full season of this group looks like. Let's make the decision on D'Lo's extention. And let's decide on Beverly's extention. I presume KAT will want to extend now, for stability's sake, and we should do that. Once we do that, and have a full season's data, and know where our pick will be, and who is coming out, then I'd be looking to make a reasoned trade to put us over the top.
HOWEVER what I want is not what I think the front office will do. I do expect there to be a trade to bring in a rotational support player in the next week. I just hope it will not involved our FRP, or be for one of the 3 players above.

This just isn’t fully accurate, though. Ben Simmons is a net-positive offensive player, despite being a complete non-threat from behind the arc. There are clear pockets where he is bad, but he still has to be picked up on defense because of his ability to drive and pass.

Out of those 3? Simmons, though factoring in cost I'd go with Turner.
I don't have much interest in Grant. If we're going for someone like that I'd rather get Barnes.
