10 games over .500. 40-30. 9 of 11 since the ASB, and .500 on the road at 18-18. Franchise record for single player scoring in a game with KAT’s 60. Franchise record for team scoring in a game with 149 and franchise record for team scoring in a road game with 149.

Special night.

Two thoughts on the game. First, Towns is a superstar. Second, our depth in terms of bigs is dangerously lacking. It's getting to the point of being managerial malpractice not to add a big.

Gonna need to a sign a big, probably Moose. Play Knight at backup PF and start Prince. Ant can also move to the 4 and run Nowell or Lea at the 3. Not ideal, but we are kinda stuck.

I haven't read any official reports, but McDaniels is almost certain to miss a lot of time and good chance the rest of the season.

Depends on where the injury is. If it is a foot, high ankle, or knee then you are correct. If it is the actual ankle, back in 2-3 weeks.

Right now if we get him back for the playoffs I'll consider it a win.

One thing I think that gets missed in a game like this where KAT drops 60 is Nowell dropping 15 on 6 of 8 shooting. He dropped 16 on Saturday on 6 of 13 shooting. Nowell is proving that he needs minutes and a real rotation spot. If MCD has to miss time, then even with the size issue it might need to be Nowell filling in.

That's right. We don't want to hear high ankle sprain. I don't think it is as he stepped on opponents foot. It seemed lower. Those things hurt like hell and often times look worse than they are. Wishful thinking I suppose.

Two things caught my attention. The first was he was grabbing at everything. At one point he was holding his high ankle, another he was holding his knee. I just don’t know based on the video what actually got hurt, (part of it was a lot of the camera angles were high, so we couldn’t see what happened with his feet.) The second is during the carry off he did put some weight on it. Not much, but that is a decent sign that it is not a foot injury. When you sprain your foot (especially on more than one side,) you are unlikely to be able to put significant weight on it (I sprained my foot on 3 sides in my sophomore year of high school and was in a walking boot for over 3 months.) Really hoping it is a simple ankle sprain.

One undervalued aspect of tonights win.

WE ARE 10 GAMES OVER .500!!!!!!

Amazing, especially when we were battling to just be at .500.

You mean the hunting 60? I mean the game was still winnable for the Spurs when KAT came back. Also, the morale of the team has to matter to Finch. Young, hungry wolves love records. KAT dropping 60 inspires and energizes them, and it didn’t exactly require a ton of extra effort.

Something I forgot to mention. The one downside from tonight’s win (besides MCD getting hurt,) is that KAT picked up his 14th technical foul. 2 more techs in the regular season and KAT is suspended. He really needs to watch his mouth going forward, especially because they sometimes call techs on him for using his hands or legs.

Do accumulative techs reset in the playoffs?

From what I read yes. I went and looked it up, the playoff number is 7. I am including my source below. It also explains that any 3 flagrant ones or a flagrant 1 and a flagrant 2 on different occasions also causes a suspension.

The game was close because of the hunting. I've noticed that the players have been pushing Finch to do things he shouldn't be doing during games and players openly showing insubordination. If a player knows damn well he felt his hand slap another player don't act like it never happened and then throw fit if Finch doesn't want to use his review on the obvious.

If finch cared less about how the players felt, he wouldn't risk a win for a single players record to be broken by feeding him the ball. By doing so you've risked of loosing the game and then because of it causing an injury to another (Mcdaniels) player lol and in front of pop too. it was sad to see. Remember that t dub Towns tried so hard to get against a bad team too? did the Joker or Joel have his team try to feed them thier numbers? Towns is talented but this is a new low.

Why is everyone so happy about this spoon fed "accomplishments"?

I am afraid I don’t follow. Towns was dominant in the third quarter, are you saying he should have shot less? Ant had 5 points on 7 shots, we were missing 3 rotation players and outside of Dlo and Nowell no one else seemed to be lighting it up. In the fourth we were not blowing them out, we needed KAT and he picked up two quick fouls. It wasn’t like we blew it open by 20 or 25, we were hovering between 10 and 12 up in a shootout. If your talking end of game the only spoon fed thing was the two long 3s and honestly KAT is a 40%+ three point shooter and 3 point shooting contest winner, why not let him shoot those. In fact Finch has been begging KAT to shoot more 3s. How is 7 of 11 from deep spoon fed?

As for MCD I don’t quite follow. Are you saying Finch should have emptied the bench? I mean JO was out there, and so was Knight. Maybe they could have played Lea instead of MCD for that last minute or two, but then you create a size imbalance. Overall I am slightly conflicted about this point, but I am not sure how much of it was record hunting and how much was just a miscalculation about the risk.
