Game 82 The Regular Season Finale!: Timberwolves vs Bulls, 7:30 pm Sunday

This will be the true litmus test of if we are a good team or not. Chicago has routinely failed to beat the good teams of the NBA. They absolutely dominate the bad and mediocre teams but their record against good teams is pretty bad. Wolves can prove they are good by taking down the Bulls and going into that Clippers game on a 2 game winning streak. Let's go!

eh..just play the backups. There is literally nothing Wolves can gain from this match other than getting some new injuries.

Let's match the 5th best regular season in franchise history. People always say Jimmy won 47 without KAT's help, give Karl his own 47!

Its pretty crazy if this team wins 47 games.

Moreover, if we lose, we end up with the same record as CHI (46-36), and a coin flip chance of getting a higher pick (#19 vs #18).

Quite a coincidence we are playing the only team where that could happen.

So I have never dug into the draft effects of play in, do you or does anyone know off hand how everything works?

They let so many winnable games get away too, orlando losses, loss to dallas with no doncic, etc.

Wow. Interesting game. I hope we get lots of Greg Monroe. Hope Ant balls out too. Who do you guys think has the better chance to win with all these guys out?

I'd rest all our starters + Jaden..

This game has no meaning, don't risk anything

I would be slightly disappointed if Finch starts Ant in this game. Would be stupid to risk any injuries in the last RS game (which is pretty much meaningless for Wolves as they're locked in as 7th seed) with such a huge game coming up on Tuesday.

This, plus his knee issue isn’t gone, could flare up at any time. No starters, minute restriction for MCD just to keep him on his return schedule, healthy dose of Layman, JO, Monroe, Bolmaro, and Wright. That could even be the starting lineup. Also Knight deserves a proper send off as his season is over tomorrow. I think we are favored if only because we are at home and neither team cares much. The fans will energize the bench guys and carry the day.

P.S I hope we don’t use Naz unless we need to, cannot afford a freak accident taking him out, and he has come up limp after a freak accident at least half a dozen times this year.

Just looking at the standings…still a lot to sort out

East: 2-4, and all of the play in teams could end up with the same record. Thats without looking at who plays who today.

West: little more settled. Barring a huge upset by lakers or Portland…Utah should be the 5 and Denver should be the 6, but who knows with how shaky Utah has been. Dallas can take the 3 seed if they win and GS loses

It seems to me that the Wolves should do a “Mark Madsen for three!”-level of tanking.

Rest + No Injury Risk + 50% chance of moving up a draft slot >>> “momentum” + matching Jimmy record

Play for the future - it’s definitely getting brighter!

I have been thinking about this, and I think winning is more important than a pick promotion. I haven’t changed my position on who should play, but Finch motivated guys by trying to win even when there was reason to lose, I can see giving the backups a chance to shine and giving the end of bench a showcase moment.

Resting players, for sure, actively trying to lose, no.

I like the thought of having winning momentum going into the play-in.

Let the boys play if they want to, if they're a bit banged up you can rest them sure, but they're young and full of bravado... use it I say.
