Important game?

The winner of Game 5 in a series that is 2-2 becomes the overwhelming favorite to advance to the next round. Winners of Game 5 when the match is tied win the series 82.2 percent of the time (180-39).

Need KAT to show up here. An MJ game from Ant wouldn’t suck either.

Finch needs to keep McLaughlin (or Nowell) in the rotation tonight too.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Game is tomorrow. For some reason we’re getting shafted with these 2 day travel day crap.

I am fine with it. This series has been physically taxing..important for players to have good amount of recovery time between the matches, especially when there is travel involved

This stat is certainly related to going a game up, but it's also related to game 5 being played at the favorites court with them usually winning.

How about a good game from Russell. He has been non existent to bad so far in the series.

KAT can play 42 minutes when he has 2 days to rest in between. Dlo bringing his A game would be nice. Prince, MCD, and Beasley doing something on offense would be a nice bonus. In every game except game 2 we looked like a much better team who couldn’t quite sustain for 48 minutes. We got away with it in games 1 and 4 but got embarrassed in game 3. There is no reason we cannot take game 5 if we play our game. That said, we could just easily not show up and defeat ourselves (game 2,) or show up and sleepwalk (game 3,) and end up blowing it. I hope KAT, Ant, Dlo, and Bev are all hungry and angry and ready to work. It would be massive if we could advance and I see us as matching up well with GSW who are likely to advance themselves in 5 or 6.

There are two results to a basketball game. Winning and Losing. We are certainly capable of either/both of those outcomes. Here's hoping for the winning side. :D

I understand why you think that, and technically you are correct, but where you see it as black and white I see it in technicolor. Memphis beat us in game 2, but we beat ourselves in game 3. The refs tried to beat us in game 1, and were far more balanced in game 4. Karl Anthony Towns is his own worst enemy. Anthony Edwards allows himself to disappear and settle for step back jumpers far too often. Dlo is a world class magician, where Ant might disappear for a game, Dlo disappears for a month. Even in front of thousands of people no one can see him (unless they watch him miss.) We have better talent, but they won more games in the regular season. This series really is a perfect matchup, and I truly believe we should win it in 6. But to do so, Finch and Bev need to get the big 3 into the proper mindset and attack mode.

Winning game 5 and giving ourselves a chance to win the series at home would be amazing.

I had this crazy fantasy scenario just before the playoffs started. We beat Memphis in 6, and then we survive the winner of Denver (we beat them 3 of 4 games and only lost the 4th by 2 at the beginning of the season when we sucked,) and GSW (a team that cannot guard KAT, and is one injury to Curry away from not even being a playoff team,) to make it to the WCF. I feared the Suns but was good with the Pels, Jazz, or Mavs as each has a weakness I think we can exploit.

Now, I really see it as possible if we can get by Memphis that this year could be very very good. GSW is exploiting the lack of Murray and MPJ by loading up on Jokic, but our team has a lot more shooters. Bev is a better POA defender than anyone Denver has, and we can dust off JO in a pinch for some extra lock down defense. Meanwhile the suns missing Booker might get them eliminated in round one, and neither the Jazz or Mavs look all that scary right now.

Game 5 is our big chance to take back home court and send a message to the league that we are out for blood. We need to play up to our ability and seize that chance.

Crazy that in three of the games, we've had no less than a 13-point lead. Game 2 was really the only one we were completely out of.

If you told me the Wolves would be 2-2 going back to Memphis before the playoffs started, I'd say, you've been smoking too many beers. Suffice to say I'm glad the Wolves are where they're at. I'd like to see them steal home court again!

I was shocked that Beasley didn't take a single shot in game 4.

2 days rest is nice, Kat played a ton of minutes and Ant gets an extra deal to rest his knee. Need Dlo to make some shots, can't count on McLaughlin to show up like that every game. If Beasley/Prince or Russell struggle, I wonder if Finch will look to Nowell at all to try and score?

Also never again play that lineup with Russell, Towns, and ANT on the bench please.

And the converse. If the home team loses, then they got to follow that up by going to the opponent’s court and try to salvage a road win.

I think this helps us. I think the two players that can be most impacted by an extra day of rest are KAT (huge load, no back up), and Beverley (old, and tough two-way assignment. It also gives the 2-seed Grizz and extra day to feel the pressure.

I think we need that. I don't want to try to finish this in Memphis.
