Lets play predictions?

Now that we have full week before draft, here are my predictions:

Contract extension:
I expect Towns, Russell, Reid all sign new contract extensions. Taurean Prince will return with one year, 10 mil. Knight will return with Hinkie special deal.

FA acquisitions:
We will try hard, we will fail hard.

Trades:
We trade Nowell and #48 and #50 for OKC #34

Draft:
At #19 we will draft Jovic, at #34 and #40 we draft two long term prospects.

Contract extension:
Towns gets the full supermax
Naz and Nowell have their team options picked up - may be extended later, but likely trade candidates.

FA acquisitions:
Taurean Prince $10 mil, $10 mil unguaranteed with Bird rights

Trades:
Russell, #19, #50 for #11, Burks, Kemba, Noel, future 2nd
#48 for a future 2nd

Draft:
At #11 I don’t know, #40 we pick longterm prospect (I don’t follow the draft well enough to guess)

I’ll think a little more today and perhaps add to the free agency and trades. I tend to watch, not predict, so let me get my head around projecting a realistic course of events. My “hope” is to use the Knicks pieces and a future 1st to trade for John Collins, and sign Tyus with the MLE.

I wonder if we can try something creative like HOU (Morey???) did with Lin contract. 10 mil first year for TP, 5 mil second year fully non guaranteed.

My problem with this year FA class and draft, is that I don't see many players that have "he got the game" potential. The only name I have right now is Jalen Williams. Really impressed with him. I would trade up to get him.

Contract extension:
I expect Towns and Prince sign new deals. I actually think Prince will sign a one-year deal for 13-15 million like PBev did and Wolves fans will freak out, but it's the price you pay to get a guy to sign a one-year deal. Russell bets on himself - fingers crossed there. Knight signs minimum deal.

FA acquisitions:
I'm going with Hartenstein (BAE) and then either Boucher or Gary Harris for full MLE depending on who they draft.

Trades:
Beasley gets traded if Minnesota drafts a SG. If they draft a PF/C, no one gets traded.

Draft:
I'm going with Dalen Terry if the draft is chalk or Agbaji if he falls. I also predict Minnesota will trade two first (No. 40 and 2023) for a pick high enough to draft Kennedy Chandler and then get Justin Lewis later in the second round.

Contract extension:
Towns supermax is automatic. I think we wait on both Nowell and Reid, unless C isn't addressed in draft or free agency. Prince weighs his options in free agency. I think he would need full nontaxpayer MLE to leave though, otherwise I think he at least considers staying.

FA acquisitions/Trades:
I'm seeing something connected to the Washington Wizards. A lot of people want to go look at direct ties to our front office (Denver, Chicago, Orlando) but I think we look at a slightly more indirect connection that can get talks started (other Connelly brother there, Sheppard/Connelly ties). Maybe signing Thomas Bryant or working out a trade for Russell?

I think we'll surprise people here and either go for a grand slam without changing the core 6/7 people in terms of trades and try to sign some under the radar names.

Draft: We will trade 40 for a current player no one saw coming, and 48 for a future 2nd in '24 or '26 and end up only drafting 2 Big Ten players: LIddell @19 and Cockburn @50.
Duren and WIlliams go at 9 and 13.
Denver packages 21+30 to move ahead of us but not for Jovic, who goes to the Bulls at 18.

Extensions: KAT will sign the supermax and no other extensions.

Trades: We won't be able to trade Russell or Beasley this offseason.

Free Agency:
We split the MLE between vet backup PG and Gary Harris on 1 year deals
Okogie, Layman and Prince not brought back.
2 new 2-way players to replace knight and wright.

Trade Deadline:
Russell goes to CHA for Gordon Hayward and a future 1st in a salary dump for CHA to chase Myles Turner in FA,
That 1st is sent with Beasley to ORL for a proven healthy Johnathan Isaac.

We hit the playoffs with this rotation:

Draft: We trade #19, #40, #48 to Cleveland for #14. We draft Mark Williams. At #50 we take Treyvion Williams and sign him to a 2-way contract. Buy a late 2nd to take Collin Gillespie (2-way contract).

Extensions: KAT super max. Russell 3 years/$63M. Nowell 3 years /$14M. Offer Reid the same contract as Nowell, but he turns it down.

Free Agency: Prince 2 year /$20M. Second year partial guarantee. Isaiah Hartenstein (or Boucher) to a MLE contract.

Trade: Reid traded for a similar priced PF. Maybe to Hawks for Jalen Johnson.
