Re: The official Matteo Spagnolo thread
I think it's important to keep him in mind as we're thinking about how the back half of the roster will look next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see him over here with the club.

Re: The official Matteo Spagnolo thread
Keep in mind the importance of young, cheap talent on the back-end of an expensive roster.

Re: The official Matteo Spagnolo thread
Found a recent interview (via Google Translate): https://news.italy24.press/local/516361.html
Do you have any contact with Timberwolves this season?
Yes, they follow me, I have quite frequent contacts with the representatives of Minnesota, we talk about everything, then they tell me the aspects to work on, what there is to improve in my game, there is attention from them. I try to follow their matches, maybe not during the night, but I try to recover them during the following day. The season hasn’t gone badly, there are players who have stood out like Anthony Edwards who has put in phenomenal performances, it’s a team that can aim even higher given the talent on the roster.
Is the NBA a short-term program or do you think you need one or more seasons in Europe?
I’m always willing to play my cards at any time. Maybe after last year I thought it was too soon and I didn’t feel ready, after this season where I worked so hard so I sincerely believe that if there was any chance of going there, I would give it a try. There are many aspects to evaluate and consider, whether there is a real space to play for example, but it is a door that I keep open, it being understood that I am contractually bound to Real Madrid.

Re: The official Matteo Spagnolo thread
I like a lot about his game but it’s tough to function as a guard in the current NBA that can’t shoot. He’s around if not below 30% from 3 on really low volume.

Re: The official Matteo Spagnolo thread
I wouldn't get your hopes up. He was, what, the 50th pick? Guys like that rarely amount to anything in the NBA.
Doesn't mean he can't be good I just wouldn't bet on it.

I know it was a highlight reel, but he looked pretty good. I would like to bring him over and let him play G-league and see if the better competition changes my view.

That's just too close to "Spaz" for my liking.
