Where do Wolves rank in the West?

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Fri Jul 1, 2022 9:43 pm

Post Gobert trade where do we stack in the West?

PHX - CP3 a year older; will they lose Ayton? [trending down]
GSW - Their aging core is another year older; they lost GP2 to Blazers, lost Porter to Raptors, lost Bjelica to Europe, will be forced to rely on more youth [trending down]
DEN - Porter Jr is a big ? , Murray coming back from ACL [trending up]
UTA - blew it up, likely tanking from here [tanking]
SAS - traded their only plus starter [tanking]
LAC - can they stay healthy for a change? [trending up]
NOP - lots of new parts, but healthy Zion a ? [trending up]
MEM - lost Slo Mo, but will be better with improving core and running back roster [trending up]
LAL - roster is still a disaster; aging core [trending down]
SAC - making a run for 8th seed [trending up]
DAL - Brunson big loss for them [trending down]
OKC - Years away from being years away [still tanking]
HOU - Years away from being years away [still tanking]

I think we easily have the best talent other than the Warriors who are getting old. I think we finish first in the west.

I'm not having the positivity now, KGdaBom. Maybe when the season tips off, but not now.

If healthy somewhere between 1-3 depending on how quickly we gel as a team. If not healthy depends on who and how long.

I get that. My opinion on our finish in the west is that with Gobert we've passed all the teams that finished ahead of us. This trade could blow up in our faces. I know that. We could have been more patient. On the other hand it's so freaking exciting. :D

It depends on alchemy (Finch&Staff work) and health IMHO

Neither you or I know that. GoBear is a stud. I'm going to be so happy with us owning the boards instead of them. I'm going to be so happy with GoBear erasing the drives to the rim.

Are you going to be "so happy" without a title and a draft pick each year?

I used to get super excited for draft picks. This year I really like what we did only to lose Kessler. However, I'm not going to worry about picks we don't have. Odds are we don't win the title. Only one team does. I'll take being a legit contender. Also I'm a huge GoBear fan.

Dude why are you afraid? . We’ve been playoff deprived for 16 of the last 18 years.

We’re one of the losingest franchises in all 4 major sports.

If you don’t like Rudy just say it. He’s one of the most dominant defensive forces in league history and is an all nba talent. Was Jimmy all nba when we traded for him?

Take a gamble. Were nets fans or anybody else trading multiple picks for a player hating it? Nah. It’s that loser mentality you’ve developed of being a wolves fan.

Despite losing to Memphis, I liked the trajectory of the team. In fact, I don't believe the Wolves needed to make such a splash in order to remain a playoff team.

I have nothing against Gobert. He is an incredible player; however, earlier today when there were rumors I knew cost to acquire him would be high, though I didn't fathom it would be this high. I'm also not a fan of his age and salary, especially when you consider Towns' extension and then what Edwards will command a couple years from now.

I think homecourt worthy in the 1st round is safeish to say. I really like our talent level, but I don't want to put us over teams that proved more the last season.

GS, Memphis are at the top. Then LAC, Denver, Wolves. I could see us being the #1 seed, I could see us in the play in. A lot would depend on health, and a lot depends on how fast they gel.

Dlo's health is the major question mark for me. Can he stay healthy? We are very thin at PG if he misses an extended amount of time.

JJJ is out until next year, GSW lost important rotation players and they are indeed getting old. I wouldn’t be surprised if we finished first either. Clippers could be a threat if they’re healthy.

I think we need more outside shooting and DLO has to play well to finish first but it’s doable.

Where does a team that is basically the Jazz + KAT rank in the NBA?

DLO = Conley
Ant = Mitchell
Jaden = Ingles/Royce
KAT = Royce/Ingles
Gobert = Gobert

That's a top team in the west

If we had GoBear in this year's playoffs we would have beat Memphis in 4. I have us over them easy.
