Wolves 22/23 offensive thread
There is a ton of talk in the NBA world on the defensive fit of our new twin towers. What I find interesting is that no one is talking about our offense. How the hell does anyone guard Dlo, Ant, MCD, KAT, and Gobert. How do you box out size like this and how do you keep your bigs out of foul trouble? This seems like a conversation worth having.

I hear that GoBear might set the best screens in the NBA and he is sneaky good on offense per advanced stats. I mean real good.

With Towns sliding to PF, I am most excited to see Edwards and McDaniels in, what I consider to be, their favorable positions.

I have heard that rumor and seen the tape. The one thing he needs to be careful about he seems to be moving a lot in those screens. But thankfully he gets away with it. Makes me wonder if now we will get away with more fouls and get more favorable whistles. As a powerhouse team I mean.

Huge plus to be certain. Not gonna be easy for most traditional SGs to contain Ants size and strength.

I was actually thinking about that. Will calls improve for KAT being affiliated with GoBear or will calls get harder on GoBear being affiliated with KAT?

Or is it less about the individual player reputation and more about respect for the teams overall title chances. Do you treat bad teams more harshly because they aren’t going anywhere. It is a much bigger deal if you rob a top contender whose game will be covered on sports center.

PG Russell Big for position
SG Ant Monster big for position
SF McD Tall, but light for position
PF KAT Very Big for position
C GoBear standing reach of 9'9"
Ladies and gentlemen small ball has left the building.
Big, Tall and Talented is what we got now.

I'm not sure, but I would guess a bit of both.

Re: Wolves 22/23 offensive thread
The Wolves, on offense, played Towns with another big (Vando) in the dunker spot. As far as I’m concerned Towns role on offense doesn’t need to change much except I hope he takes 8 3’s a game versus 4 more similar to how he did in the first Rosas year.
Gobert is better at everything that Vando did while opening up a second PnR variation of offense the Wolves can run in the half court especially with D Lo but also Nowell.
Anderson is a better and more complete offensive player than Vando. Nowell is the same compared to Beasley.
This is a top 5 offense easy.

But but maxi kleber and Davis bertans can stretch Rudy out of the paint! We saw it in the playoffs!

Re: Wolves 22/23 offensive thread
Imagine Ant/D Lo/Nowell with the ball and Towns/Gobert setting a double screen and Gobert rolling to the rim and Towns popping to the 3 point line.
Yeah, okay… good luck.

No offense but this is a thread about offense, not defense. To respond to your point (although I would prefer to keep all follow up on a different thread,) either a zone or scheme shift that keeps Rudy close to home is the solution. If you have to give up something better to make their bad shooters take open 3s and force opposing players to drive into the paint and Rudy.

Re: Wolves 22/23 offensive thread
Another point regarding Gobert's impact on offense are his hands. He is very good at catching the ball down low and sealing whoever is guarding him. A lot of talk about pick and roll with gobert and Dlo or Ant, what about with Towns?

Honest question as I am drawing a blank. Have we ever seen a consistent 4 and 5 pick and roll attack? Not to say we shouldn’t, but have we? Not only is this fascinating from a pick and roll perspective, but what about pick and pop?

The opponents will have to solve a nice puzzle

If we were able to select well the choices without forcing, we would have many different possibilities every single action!

Can you please rephrase or clarify your second statement? I just don’t follow what you are trying to say.

I'm confused about something. I don't find this thread to be offensive. I think it's a good thread.
