The Nowell+Rivers combination is just plain awful the majority of the time. The perimeter defense becomes extremely porous, and they don't make up for it on the offensive end.

I think Minnesota’s next improvement needs to come from backup guard play. Jordan McLaughlin will help, but Minnesota needs a quality (veteran) backup shooting guard.

Garza isn't quick by any measure, but he does a pretty good job of getting in the right position on defense.

By far the easiest upgrade for the Wolves is to replace the Nowell/Rivers minutes. It's become glaringly obvious this team needs one additional good perimeter defender.

I think the Kings are targeting Nowell on defense. It seems like his guy has scored on almost every possession since he came back in the game.
