Figure we could use a dedicated thread for playoff-only talk around the league. I think I am going to root for the Lakers. Lots of former Wolves, I don't mind seeing Lebron add to his legacy. The Lakers are really surprising me. I knew they were improved after the trade but I did not think they would be able to make any noise in the playoffs.
They are pretty deep. AD and DLO are not scoring at alright now but they are dominating the Grizzlies. Grizzlies look frazzled too. The series is a lot more competitive than I would have imagined. I wonder how the Lakers would have looked against Denver.

Jimmy just had his greatest game ever. A 8th seed may win the series. Lakers vs DEN, I think DEN would be up 3-1 and finish off Lakers in 6 games. I think Grizzlies will win but comes down to whoever wins the critical game 4. Just don't use the B word with Dillion Brooks. He punch a lot lower than Gobert.

Lebron going nuts at 38. I hope Ant has 17 years of epic games like this in his career lol.

Lakers up 3-1 on the 2 seed. Nuts. Give their GM an award, they were toast in the standings when they made that trade. Grizzlies fans are going nuts. Ex Wolves getting big revenge for last year.

Think about this, outside of gs vs sac every series is 3-1. A lot of teams expected to be competitive but are in the same boat as the wolves. Title contenders too

Yea as horrible as this season was compared to expectation. And despite being the worst playing team in the playoffs

we are finishing in the same or very similar boat to a lot of other teams and only one other team played a 1 seed. That said Miami is killing it and I don't know what the Bucks will do if they lose 4-1. Might blow it up.

Miami is Lucky Giannis is injured. It’s always the wolves that face the completely healthy team.

Miami def caught a break with a timely Giannis injury. It also took a herculean effort from Jimmy to win that last game as well. I don't think they blow it up at all. Minor tweaks maybe.

Weird Logic. LeBron can't even cut on his foot after tearing a ligament 5-6 weeks ago. Imagine if he was moving as briskly as he was earlier this year

I am not getting your point. Ja falls on the hand again last night and was clearly affecting his shooting. He shot 8 for 24. If LeBron had an injury and is able to plays thru it with minimal impact to get 20/20 night that is great for him. Are you saying Ja's injury has no impact or LeBron should gotten 40/40? Or Lakers is a better team? Or DLo made the difference? I certainly can imagine LeBron moving like he was earlier this year. Lakers were 25 and 30.

Cavs are going down 4-1 to the Knicks. Grizzlies might go down 4-1 to the Lakers. All things considered, as bad as we have been, this is way less disappointing than Memphis or the Cavs. The Grizzlies were supposed to be THAT team this year but losing to the Lakers out of nowhere in 5 games will be a huge flop.
The Cavs were talked about as the premiere team that went big, that have studs all over the place, no one in hell though the Knicks would dominate them in a series. They cant rebound either and they are big like us. Maybe it goes to show that you really need rebounders all over the court.
Also, no Julius Randle for a couple games.

Longer shots longer rebound. But we did watch a lot of short tip ins all season. Completely unacceptable.

Nah. But we’ll give them KAT with a Nowell on top, maybe some TP to wipe up tears from losing to the Knicks.

So Wolves are getting ripped for the Gobert trade (rightfully so) but the Mitchell trade gets a pass?
The Cavs traded Sexton, Lauri(all-star), Ogbaji (top 10 rookie this year) and 5 first round picks (2 swaps)
The best asset we've traded (so far) is Walker Kessler, the 1st pick that has conveyed is out of the lottery, Pat Bev, Vanderbilt & Beasley aren't even on the Jazz anymore. Lauri looks like a long term player for them and Ogbaji looks promising.
But of course nobody is going to mention it because Mitchell puts up sexier stats.
Results ended up the same this year, both teams lost in the first round 4-1

I will never bash the Butler trade. Thibs knew Butler was amazing and he pulled the trigger. I only blame Thibs for letting things deteriorate like they did. Getting Jimmy was the right move, he brought us a superstar in a trade, something that has never happened. OF course, it didn't work out because Minnesota's luck but it was a fantastic move.
