2023 summer league
Might as well get this started. What do you guys think the team is going to look like? So far I've seen Jaylin Galloway and Sam Waardenburg brought in.
PG - ???
SG - Moore, Galloway
SF - Minott
PF - Miller, Waardenburg
C. - Garza?
Will be interesting to see what they do at point guard. Hopefully they get Garza back.

I'm really hoping they bring in Jazian Gortman.

Re: 2023 summer league
Garza has earned a standard NBA contract. There is no need to play him in gleague

Re: 2023 summer league
They will easily win it all if Garza plays.
Too bad Marquis Nowell signed with Toronto.

Re: 2023 summer league
There must be a lot of options for players, because typically UDFAs have mostly sorted themselves out and there are still a ton out there.

I know we worked out Sharife Cooper, he would be a nice 2 way. Then play Matt Ryan at the three
Cooper
Moore
Ryan
Minott
Miller

I think he still has a lot to prove defensively and on the glass. If he was a PG, he'd be a good defensive rebounder. He has the same def rebounding percentage as CP3. Not very good for a big man though.

Sure, he has a lot to prove in NBA, but not in SL games where everyone tries to impress

It will be interesting. Garza is technically a RFA and any kind of offer sheet would be impossible for Minnesota to match. Even a 3yr 12 million deal would probably be too high for TC. My point is does Minnesota want him averaging 25 pts and 12 boards in summer league games. It will only help his market value.
You know Minnesota wants to corner him and get him to either sign a minimum deal or another two-way. I can't believe they would give him a showcase.

Good call, but the Bucks just signed Timme to an Exhibit 10 already.
I think we know how Garza would do in Summer League, because he showed he could dominate the G-League in Iowa. I hope we bring him back.

That's a great point, I didn't think of that

I like Tshiebwe too - last year during the draft lead-up, pre-Gobert and before he decided to return to school, I liked him a lot as somebody we could bring in to cure our rebounding ills. I like him a little less with the current roster though. Vando 2 years ago, Steven Adams last year - guys that dominate the offensive glass are so useful with a team around them that likes to chucks 3s. Those 2nd chances can make a big difference in the offensive efficiency. But with the guys we have now though, our identity has veered away from that quite a bit. Now we have some big playmakers and slashers on the team. Guys like Garza are probably more useful as teams have to honor their shooting and it's much harder to crowd the paint.

Yeah I saw that, but just an exhibit 10. If he shows up well at SL we can poach.

An Exhibit 10 is not the same as a 10 Day contract.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum-salary NBA deal that allows the franchise to convert the contract to a two-way contract if that change is made before the start of the regular season.
If a player is on an Exhibit 10 contract with a particular team, it would allow him to participate in that franchise's training camp. The team will control that player's G League rights, and he is eligible to get $50,000 if he manages to spend 60+ days with the G-League affiliate. Signing a basketball athlete to an Exhibit 10 contract works out well for NBA teams, who hold the option to cut them or include them in the roster if they play well.

I don't think center or PF is a high priority.
PG, SG and SF is where we try and find talent in SL.
And we did kind of bring in PF for SL we might want a look at, perhaps for Iowa.

OK. I wonder why he signed that Bucks deal since it has limited his options so badly. He was undrafted. I guess he thought something was better than nothing.
